Nasal spray for b12 deficiency

Hi, I have been taking weekly injections since 2.5 months. Most of my symptoms like numbness, tingling, muscle pain have gone. Balance problem has also improved, walking has improved but recently I tried sublingual 1000 mcg daily for 6 days and got very uncomfortable energy, physically it was good, but mentally, it stimulated my nerves, got headache, anxiety, restlessness. So I am scared to try again. So, if that sublingual has given me energy and improved my muscle weakness, can nasal spray also work? Has someone used it? Did their symptoms improve?? Can I use spray as a substitute for my weekly shots?? Any side effects from spray if someone has used?

All you can do is eliminate the sublingual and see how you feel .

I wouldnt just stop the injections if you've had so many improvements .

It's very early days and doing one thing at a time good

If you are absorbing the sublingual perhaps it's a different sort of b12 your body reacting to?

Trial and error .

You have been very fortunate to get relief from symptoms so quickly . Lovely to hear

Thanks, actually I was given oral tablets at first after initial 6 injection doses, but my symptoms were severe and I didn't improve on them, so I decided to have weekly injections on my own and also took oral tablets so maybe the combination worked better and all severe symptoms were gone but now I will stick to the older method only, weekly or bimonthly injections. At least I know they work. Can try spray in between maybe.

I’ll bet you were using a methylcobalamin spray. Many people have an adverse reaction to it, just as you have described.

Switch to an oral cyanocobalamin supplement.

Oral should be OK as B12 is too large to be passively absorbed across membranes. So all of a nasal or sublingual dose is actually being absorbed after you swallow them.

Yes I was using methylcobalamin sublingual lozenge, I have also heard some people get side effects from this type. Or maybe it could just be the extra ingredients in that sublingual, like it had mannitol. A sugar alcohol. I took 13 methylcobalamin injection but never got any side effects except acne.
