I have posted before but not for awhile. I SI every other day. After doing that for two years, many of my neurological symptoms are much improved.
My stomach issues continue to plague me. I have a hiatal hernia which is really bothering me lately.
I think I have read that if I am self-injecting B12 that Prilosec won’t bother me or cause deficiency issues. Is this correct? I don’t know if it will help the hernia, and won’t try it if it sets me back B12 wise.
The search function on HL doesn’t like me!
Many thanks for any assistance! Sita

Good to hear that your neuro stuff is much improved but sorry about the hernia 😬.
Prilosec won’t impact on you B12 wise since you’re bypassing the GI tract and getting your B12 from injections.
If self-treatment doesn’t work, your symptoms become worse or if you vomit is blood stained or contains blood, best to see your GP (especially if you start seeing blood). If you can’t control with diet, lifestyle changes or OTC remedies...keyhole surgery may be another option.
Thank you! I have had extensive stomach surgeries and am fearful of any surgery. I could be wrong, but I think that laparoscopic surgery can’t be done if there is lots of scar tissue, which I have in abundance.
Thanks fbirder. I have had two of those tests. The first time I did have bacterial growth and took heavy duty antibiotics. The second was about a year ago and there was no growth. I am currently using Symprove as recommended by this group. I think that is helping with another part of my stomach dysfunction. I am starting with Pepcid for the hiatal hernia but may have to move to Prilosec.
It is interesting to me that I get lesions in my stomach. They have been termed precancerous by one doctor. I usually have an upper endoscopy yearly. I think you have mentioned having something like this.
I truly appreciate this group and the caring and support of its members. Thanks for your response! Sita
