Hi everyone! I have started Hydrocobalamin injections of 1000 ug every other day (currently with Neurological symptoms). I’ve read that high amounts of Hydroxocobalamin lowers Nitric Oxide (NO) levels. Would it then be prudent to monitor NO levels during injections? How often to monitor? Has anyone experienced negative effects from frequent Hydrocobalamin injections ?
Peace.

Interesting. I’ve read that Hydroxocobalamin lowers NO levels, and has been used in high doses for that specific purpose in the past. Regardless, it’s good to learn that Hydroxocobalamin doesn’t have great effect on NO, which is probably why it was used in large doses for other medical conditions. Thanks fbirder!
Trust your Blood Test Results and advice from a GP Doctor .... me? My Doctoral Degree is in Aviation Engineering. All that I do know is that I need regular B12 Injections ... my Blood Test Results were reassessed after seeing a Psychologist ... I had neurological symptoms that were not initially recognised by my GP .... I have positive results from B12 injections and complete faith in Blood Tests and professional advice .... not advice from ordinary people such as me .... having said that I listen to people but make my own mind up whether I feel okay or not ....
The problem is that blood tests don't always get it right. The ranges of B12 levels in people with a deficiency and those without a deficiency overlap substantially. So there is a grey area where people might be deficient or they might not.
That wouldn't be a problem if doctors knew about this. Many do not. They think that any result in the 'normal' range completely rules out the possibility of a B12 deficiency.
That's why a lot of people here find advice from ordinary people much more valuable than blood tests and professionals. Many of us hear know a lot more about B12 than most GPs. Indeed, my GP admitted that and thanked me for teaching him.
Thanks for your advice. Just as fbirder mentioned many practitioners don’t yet understand b12 deficiency (at least in the US). I’ve been to different doctors and none caught the b12 deficiency until I self-researched and correlated all my symptoms to b12. I also believed in blood test results and trusted my GPs, but I was just getting worse and none had idea what I had, one even said it was all psychological.
Im so glad with the amount of research available online. It was the only way to convince my current GP for a prescription of Hydrocobalamin injections.
I’ve definitely noticed differences after b12 supplementation.
