Symptoms getting me down

I have my B12 jab every 2 and a half months, when I get near to being due for my jab I get a foggy head and pressure on my forehead (like someone is pressing against it). I get very anxious and panic how bad I feel. I get some days and bad days and it’s making me not want to make plans. Does anyone get these symptoms and feel like this?

Yes.

Have you tried more frequent b12 injections?

My head has always given me symptoms varying g from severe headaches. Shooting pains at the back. Pressures on top ans behind my ears has lessened over 18m but never gone. Tinnitus has improved sometime s my head feels bruised like I've been bashed against a wall.

The anxiety sometimes about how I'm going to get through this day and how long I can cope with symptoms comes and goes with no pattern.

I dont make plans that cant be cancelled as it feels like a pressure 'to perform

I do find setting activities low as it makes me feel better to achieve something in a day. Might be cooking a meal or baych cook for freezer. Or seeing a neighbour fir a chat

Tour body seemed to be needing more b12 if theses symptoms are only before next injection

Do they go after an injection? Or reduce?

If so write them down and send a letter to tour Gp requesting a review of treatment or a trial of more injections to keep your symptoms at bay

A letter will be scanned on your notes. Then get a telephone consult to discuss

A doctor can prescribe more if it's in the best interests of their patient!!

Dont know what country yoh are in or what sort of b1e you having

I have Hydroxocobalamin others have cynocobalamin which seems to be monthly at least . T C

It does seem as though you are struggling to get through 2 and a half months and could benefit from more frequent injections.

Nackapan is right- probably the best way to persuade a GP, since they cannot watch this pattern happening, is to make a chart to record it daily and the pattern will present itself. Keep a daily record of your most worrying/ frequent/ obvious symptoms, the frequency and severity, and of course the day you get your injection. This should then indicate when you begin to get worse, whether the injection improves this and for how long. We are not all the same (why would we be ?) - and an experienced GP will acknowledge this.

Although some people have few symptoms, it is often the case that you have so many varied symptoms that GPs cannot believe that all of them are B12-related, even if you know that they improve with injections and all started at the same time. Support websites such as the Pernicious Anaemia Society have more comprehensive symptoms lists, and it sometimes helps to have a look just to reassure yourself that you are not alone in this.

A cycle of improvement and deterioration cannot be a satisfactory answer for a GP, and it would be unfair to leave you in limbo like this if a better solution has not been trialled : if B12 injections improve your situation, then more might give you more improvement/ last for longer. It is not going to cause you any harm and may well be all you need to be able to regain a bit of quality to your life !

The symptoms chart might also give you a clearer picture- eventually, you may be able to use this to help you make plans again.
