After a battle I've had my B12 injection, why should we have to battle so much , the last! doctor that rang me..... (I had written to the practice manager, after a chat on the phone with Martyn Hooper & also as some of you know I had had two conversations with other doctors plus I'd written to the doctor who told me I'd need injections for life) .....said that blood tests for pernisious anemia can give false results.....er yes I know because it took several blood tests and a long time to get pernisious anemia diagnosed, but I really think he was trying to say I possibly didn't even have PA.....WHAT! then there was the usual untrue statement....we store B12 in the liver for a year, goodness gracious I need to lie down, some years ago I kept going to see my doctor (in the days they preferred you to see one doctor) I was suffering from a lot of discomfort/ pain just below my boobs, short story he kept telling me it was indigestion when I kept going back saying no it didn't feel like indigestion he said I worried to much....ha, it turned out I had a diseased gallbladder, so I knew I had to stand my ground with the B12 injections battle, I just hope by the time the next one is due I (we in a lot of cases) don't have a repeat battle or I might be carted off to the 'hysteria hospital' 🤔, as a by the way I also wrote to my MP, who is looking into why injections are being stopped for such a disease!

Most of them may be as much use as a fishnet condom, but just knowing that they may be under extra scrutiny may be enough pressure for some doctors.
I don't think where I live (Staffordshire)have changed their views, my son's childhood friend is a doctor in Shropshire he told my son so many people get no attention because they just walk away ,the way I have done in the past, he said you have to keep on until they actually hear what you are saying, I'm right behind people on here battling to get their injections, it's not cosmetic it's a quality of life (& a serious issue) thing, hence why I wrote to my MP.
I hope my drs surgery did feel under scrutiny, unless they have PA I don't think they have a clue what it's like, & it's obvious they are not up to date on information or they wouldn't have kept say . . ....stored in liver for a year...🤔

Glad that you have got what you need.
To "keep on until they actually hear what you are saying" can make for an awfully exhausting 10 minutes to someone suffering with fatigue, memory loss, confusion etc, but if that's how it is.... what a world, eh ?
This is a life-changing condition, and restitution of self is always worth the battle.

I think my drs surgery just gave in because I wasn't giving up, your right it's exhausting keeping up the pressure ! on the surgery to understand why we need our injections but I remember how exhausted I was without the injections, to scared to drive 65miles to my daughter's in case I fell asleep at the wheel, it's remembering things like that, that kept me pursuing the right outcome, one day doctors will come to understand 🤞

Good for you. And you are right, many of us have to battle for this vital injection. I would like to know why it is such a battle. It's not as if it is expensive.
I've asked myself that so many times recently, I believe they! just don't know how we feel, they ! don't get it 🤷

I also got my local health board involved. I wasn't getting anywhere - drs receptionist kept telling me that dr would ring, But 4 weeks later and 2 phone calls to the surgery nothing. I was furious when I saw lots of adverts on facebook from the local health board saying your drs are still working as normal, please contact them if you need to. I let rip (reasonably politely of course) and they actually rang the drs surgery. The Practice Manager rang me within an hour and offered me an appointment.
It's so wrong the stress it causes to try to keep our health as best as we can, can't understand this lax attitude towards PA, we would be at the surgery every week with all the syptoms of not getting our injections then they would take notice, good luck,👍
