Should I avoid caffeine?

Hello all, I have pernicious anemia and am new to getting b12 shots. Will caffeine affect my b12 levels or the effectiveness of my shot? I am already avoiding alcohol for sure, but caffeine is harder because that’s a habit for me and I love it. I would really appreciate to hear what you all think about it and do yourselves!

I have P.A. too . I ’m not a big coffee drinker , but I drink loads of tea and a couple of cups of coffee ( not huge mugs ) a day without any trouble . I don’t believe that coffee will affect your B12 in any way . . I’ve never seen that mentioned in connection with P.A. But huge amounts aren’t good for you anyhow , Pernicious Anaemia or not! Best wishes .

I gave up all alcohol which was easy as felt too poorly to even think about it.

I went off coffee as had nausea

I've continued to drink tea . Really like my tea

I think it's more of an issue with a absorbing vitamins from food and supplements.

Cant see how it would effect Injections ar all.

Hope it goes well for you.

We now drink T****y decaf tea. It tastes the same as ordinary tea but doesn’t keep me awake at night and I am less stressed when things go wrong!!

Not aware of any interaction between caffeine and B12 - caffeine is often recommended as something to avoid on medication as it affects digestion - but if you are on injections that's irrelevant
