Eczema Cure

My daughter was recently diagnosed with pernicious anemia and just finished her loading doses. For the past several years she has had some pretty bad eczema on her hands, feet, and ankles. She went to the dermatologist and tried many different treatments but nothing took care of the problem. After her second B12 shot she noticed the eczema on her feet was clearing up. Now 6 weeks into her shots her eczema is just about gone. Has anyone else ever heard of eczema being cured with B12 shots?

Hi,

That's great to have a positive story.

I have read that dry skin can be associated with B12 deficiency. I had dry skin on my elbows and knees and what I thought was terrible dandruff on my head but these symptoms improved after I started B12 treatment.

It's quite common for people with PA (Pernicious Anaemia) to also have psoriasis.

I have extremely bad symptoms the same as your Daughter - plus lots of other things. White hair, body hair bald, weird nail growth, memory loss, ataxia etc. etc. I suspect many people have these or will get them if their folate and B12 deficiency is not treated adequately.

How interesting. I am not surprised....when a key component is missing the body will show symptoms and these vary from person to person as we are all unique. Very pleased for your daughter.

I'm so happy her B12 deficiency was discovered before she started experiencing problems with memory, balance, and neuropathy. Coincidentally, my daughter's friend from college was just diagnosed with B12 deficiency. She wasn't having any symptoms but she has had a lot of digestive issues for a few years and has been seeing a gastro doctor. When she saw him last month he suggested that, just to be safe, they test for vitamin deficiencies. She was deficient in both B12 and vitamin D. She's getting her loading doses right now.

Yes....I have a patch on my leg and I usually inject every 2 weeks. Towards the end of the 2nd week my patch starts to get dry and itchy but after I inject it appears much better and less dry and no itching.

So must be the B12.

It affects so many parts of the body and seems to be different for everyone.

I have suffered from eczema since childhood and over many years I have had bad flare ups. I was diagnosed about 2 to 3 years ago with PA and since then my eczema has been clear. I still use my ointments and moisturisers though. I hope she stays clear. 😘
