You probably carry thr virus and have j got if as run down. Hope fully will go when your levels up and after treatment. Nasty and painful.

I also got shingles right about the time I was diagnosed b12 deficient. I can definitely say I was extremely run down at that point.

It was so mild the doctor tried to tell me it wasn't shingles and refused to give me whatever med they usually give people when they first get it. Then, shortly afterward, my husband came down with the worst case of chicken pox I have ever seen. I wanted to drag hubby in to doctor for proof.

Aww that's terrible...yes I only had the rash mild but my fatigue went through the roof x

Strongly recommend the Shingrix vaccine for those who may get shingles (anyone who's had chickenpox). Shingrix takes 2 doses, I did get a bit of injection site pain & minimal immune reaction for about a day, but far less miserable & shorter duration than shingles, which can be vicious, with the postherpetic neuralgia. If you've never had chickenpox (like elr-ctr's husband) GET THE CHICKENPOX VACCINE. Chickenpox can be MUCH worse in an adult.

Hi, I discovered my B12 deficiency when I got shingles diagnosed. B12 injections resolved the shingles and continued jabs sorted the deficiency. I’ve researched it and it appears high dose B12 can improve shingles. It certainly did for me. Btw I am not medically trained.
