On 12/30 I had blood work done due to feeling so tired. I was sure my thyroid was off and it was (hypo) and was given Levothyroxine. But my CBC was really bad. She diagnosed me with pernicious anemia and started me on B12 shots. One for 4 weeks and then she said it'll be one monthly. The scary part is some things showed up that shouldn't be in my blood. She is making me a consult with a hematologist/oncologist because she wants to rule out cancer....mainly leukemia. I am scared to death and it'll probably be at least a month or more before I can get an appt. with the specialist. I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this and it turned out to be nothing.

Hi and good morning linkays do I take it that you are in the U.S?

I am not a medically trained person so cannot comment on your thyroid or CBC however there is life after Pernicious Anaemia as I have had it for over 47 years and I'm still "clivealive" at the age of 78.

If you have a copy of your latest blood test post it on here (blocking out your personal details) and there people on here who may be able to explain what the numbers mean.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having a scary time in the time of grieving which will make you more anxious.
