Starting off the new year Right!!! With a prescription for weekly b12

Just wanted to update that I switched doctors and he gave me a prescription for weekly b12 injection. My last doctor refused, my hemotologist refused but finally I found some knowledgeable about PA... rare in the USA. I am going to give myself 2 next week to load up. I notice the difference on how I feel ... I was previously every two weeks.

If your doctor refuses proper treatment keep going and find a new doctor, It took me 3 doctors but finally I feel I’m getting the right treatment.

Hopefully 2020 will be a good year

Really pleased for you CW12 . I doubt that any UK NHS doctor would prescribe what yours has . I need weekly injections too , but have to source my B12 ampoules from German online pharmacies . Good that you have persisted . It’s not easy when you don’t feel well. Excellent news for you . Congratulations ! 👍👍👍

Thank you!

Hopefully things will change and people everywhere will have an easier time... it motivates me to want to do something about it.

I did exactly the same thing--my first doctor wanted to give me one shot and that's it. After looking at all the folks here and reading as much as I could about low B12, I told her I thought she was wrong according to what I read. She was not happy and got angry and said "who is the doctor here". I told her that I,m not a doctor but I,m far from a dam fool. I have an IQ of 150 and I,m a good reader. Everything I read is not the Avenue you are taking with me.

I found another doctor and he immediately give me a prescription for 52 shots one each week for one year. I would be in a wheelchair today if I would have accepted the advise of the first doctor. I have about 30% of the pain and suffering I had and I still take a large B12 pill every day.

A guy I know, had about the same reading on B12 as I did and didn't do much about it He is now in a wheelchair and has lost about 80 pounds. He is fighting for his life.

My aunt (in her 80s) won’t challenge her doctor and flatly refuses to consider self treating. Sadly she too is now in a wheelchair.

So glad for you! I wish I had spoken up earlier in my treatment but I really wasn't capable of understanding what I needed until about 2 years in. Good for you!

Missed this gem, CW12 ! That's a massive achievement. How are you doing now ?

I once got 2 injections a week for 6 whole months until I became ill again and they reduced them to 1 a month. Think in UK they are so frightened they are going to "overdose" you that they underdose you instead. And if that's not a real word, it should be !

Hoping this finds you much much better. Well done to you and your doctor.
