Yes, it's called "Air hunger" I used to get it constantly but never had it agaun since regular B12 Injections.

Yes, the air hunger is a horrible feeling. Only went with a lot of B12 injections, close together. Also make sure you are drinking enough water ( we tend to drink less in cold weather) I find the “ half yawn” is the start of a headache caused by dehydration.

Yes and still do even though I self-inject every other day: longest gaps I ever get are about 8/9 days, but generally speaking, more usually 3 or 4 days gap, with usually a week of air-hunger now - but this was an everyday occurrence up until around July this year. I never get a real yawn and haven't for 4 years.

The worst ones by far are when I also have bad angular cheilitis, which makes the corners of my mouth split . Overlapping yawning bouts and mouth-splitting not a recommended combo - that's how I know it's totally involuntary .

We did have a recent post about this, so try a search on it. It seems to be quite a common B12 deficiency symptom, although you won't unfortunately get many GPs who recognise it as such. Their list isn't very long - so we'll have to wait for someone medical to notice, care and research it first- there are far worse symptoms being ignored .

Re. angular cheilitis: Oral Medicine consultant is currently culture-testing for staphylococcal infection and candida. I'm not sure that treatment of individual B12 deficiency symptoms is going to help me, but still willing to try anything except anti-depressants -in order to eliminate them as solutions if nothing else. This is another ignored-but-very-obvious symptom, so if I find out anything useful, I will post it.

Not holding my breath though, haha !

I used to yawn constantly before being diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia. Morning, noon and night.; could be quite embarrassing being asked "are we boring you?" Take a look on the Pernicious Anaemia site.
