A Poem just for self-injectors

Self injecting late at night

Never seems to go quite right

- Fading light ?

- Poor eyesight?

- Muscles tight?

...Or just too bloody tired ?

If I'd been a nurse, I'd be fired !

An inch and a quarter never looked so long

If a pill had ever been perfected,

I would never have self-injected !

You missed one other scary thing that I've done twice - realising you have injected a load of air because you forgot to knock the syringe and push the air out before injecting, and you sucked up every bit of B12 thereby also sucking up lots of air...

Did your leg blow up like a balloon ?

My worst injection ever was early on, when I really thought I knew enough to be able to show my partner how easy and painless it was. Piece of pie.

Hit a blood vessel, didn't notice until removing the needle and blood spurted in an arc through the air and across the bedroom carpet !

It's never happened since in quite such dramatic fashion. I've never injected with an audience since then either.
