Motion sickness and B12...

Hi all

While still not having resolved gp and lack of injection issues, I noticed since SI four weeks ago that as I tail off again my motion sickness has got worse, particularly while travelling on train or the underground. I find it really difficult to regulate my temperature (too hot, then too cold, then back again) and find myself deep breathing to try and get enough oxygen. My other symptoms have started to return as usual (foggy head, fatigue, etc.) Has anyone else noticed this as a symptom of low B12?

Yes, all of it. I inject frequently (every few days). If not, I will see any number of symptoms creeping in rapidly. I still get random symptoms breaking through but it is not overwhelming most of the time.

The breathlessness has been perhaps the most persistent and disruptive symptom. Over all it is far better than it ever was. But I still get it too often, though I can go many weeks without it kicking up.

Have you had Folate and Ferritin levels checked That causes breathlessness if any of these are low.

Yes, definitely!

I'd forgotten about those things coz it's played havoc with my memory but for a while I had to stop travelling anywhere. I could feel travel sick even when I was walking if I didn't keep looking ahead.

I self inject and that's all OK now.

I haven't been able to even be driven far without feeling unwell. Not sick but headachy then head pains.

I've not risked a bus or train yet as too unpredictable weakness wise.

Yes all signs of b12 defiency especially the body temperature control. I'm still on 2 weekly injections. It takes alot of energy on public transport with all the stairs . (I used to skip up) I imagine you running low.

I can't remember feeling "travel sick" except when something moved unexpectedly. Examples:

Touching clothes on a clothes-rail in a shop, only to find it's on a hanging rail that starts swaying gently.

Being in a shop with a springy 1st floor.

Walking past a bus-stop and the bus starts gently pulling away within peripheral vision.

....all of which make me feel slightly nauseous just writing about them !

Yes, that weird disorientated feeling before you realise that the world hasn't swayed out from underneath you!
