Hi fbirder

After finding a couple of ampoules that didn’t seem to want to snap, and one where the top shattered, we’ve got one of the little plastic £3.70 snappers, which the ampoule fits snugly in.

We did see the one you use, but it looked a bit big, not to say a little more expensive.

Have you tried one of these plastic ones, and perhaps have some feedback about them - longevity, effectiveness, convenience, etc. - that means we would be better off with the one you use?

Big is good. The longer it is the more leverage you can get on the top of the ampoule.

That one is only the second type I've tried. The first one used to get the top of the vial stuck in it, requiring a pair or forceps to remove it. This one works very cleanly.

Until you can buy an ampoule snapper I believe some people also use a pen top to give them a bit more leverage to get the tops off.

Not what you're looking for?
