Have any of you been successful at getting b12 injections every second day from your GP?
I need to get an actual diagnosis of PA from GP then i will try to push for doses every other day but im not hopeful.
How do you know when improvement stops if some of the symptoms are sporadic? Were you allowed to do this at home? If not, how did it work at the weekend? How did you get out of work?
Its clear to me that Ive had symptoms for years now and they have been getting worse. Im determined to stop that trend.
MCH and MCVH have been elevated in more than one test so that should help with the PA diagnosis, although when I mentioned it to the GP he said that those readings weren't important.
I've joined the PAS and had a useful phonecall yesterday. I have some leaflets from them which I can bring to the GP tomorrow. I'm seeing a different GP than usual as it is after hours.

Yes I managed to get every other day Injections s at my surgery. Monday we'd and Friday each week. So a 3 day gap once a week. After the initial loafing dise 6 injections I was supposed to email 3 Months. I was too ill si every other day restarted. I was on these for weeks. It is very hard to know when there in nifurther improvement as toy say. But at some stage I I tried a longer gap and then went weekly thrn 2 weekly . I thrn went back to one weekly but no difference. I went 3 weeks recently but unature at present. I hope you get a decent gp. 3 wouldn't do this then the present one in same practice will.
It does not specify that this is only if a patient has PA and I have taken it to mean that every other day loading jabs should be for anyone with B12 deficiency with neuro symptoms whatever the cause, even diet.
Glad to read that the PAS were helpful when you phoned.
Thanks, it was the PAS who said I need first and foremost to get a diagnosis and from that I can insist on correct treatment ie every other day until no improvement.
Yes.when I was diagnosed 18 months ago I gave my GP the haematology guidelines I got from people on here. She referred my case to the local haematologist who agreed and I got mine from there.
