Sudden weakness in legs and short of breath
Yes. I was on a short walk. It was on a very slight incline and very sudden
I sat on a wall heart going too fast and legs lie jelly. It passed but I think I must've looked drunk walking home .
Don't allow it to knock your confidence. It does pass like it did for you too. I was shocked but you just have to stop.
I'm on 2 weekly b12 injections 10 months in. My initial b12 was 106. No idea why it happened. No idea about alot of the symptoms . I've come to the conclusion you do all you can to get better. Record odd happenings. Then move on otherwise you could get scared to dIal anything.
Take care. I hope it's a one off.
Thanks Nackapan.. So far I never felt these symptoms when I was walking. In fact I am able to do short walks with same energy as earlier. The ones I mentioned are coming when I am resting or standing at my home.
Yeah you are right we should not allow these to knock our confidence..we shd keep going
I've not had the weakness or noticed it when resting.
Definitely on standing in the kitchen or putting the washing out
Just was more disconcerting when out. At least with a mobile you can call a cab if you get really stuck.
Touch wood with that knowledge and plenty of walls around to sit on that's not been needed. Infact I found it rather amusing sitting on a wall. Felt like a teenager 'hanging around' almost waiting for someone to move me on!! It is such an odd feeling when your body is unreliable. I imagined I'd be alot older to feel this way.
I get weakness that goes away after about 15 to 20 minutes. I’ve put it down to my neurological damage. The movement stimulates the nerve and the repair occurs to help strengthen the signals and the muscle strength also returns.
I’m not certain sometimes if it is the controlling nerves, the monitoring nerves, the base of the spinal cord or the brain stem where things have gone wrong.
For me the weakness seems very real but I’m able to push through and walk or climb stairs or carry heavy stuff so I don’t think it is the muscle itself or even the controlling nerves.
My right hip is worse than left.
I get it too, especially the breathlessness! I can be sat on the sofa or at the table and suddenly it’s as if my body has forgotten how to exhale and breath normally!! I have to really try and concentrate on making it happen!! I get it when I do any type of exertion too at the moment!
I also get the muscle weakness, mainly in my legs (they’ve been playing up a lot the last few days especially) but I also get it in my arms especially my right side. Ive found that this side has been affected the most by the neurological damage that the B12 deficiency has caused.
I’ve not long started to SI and I’d love for some of these symptoms to go!
Shelley xx
You need to see a doctor. That can be a symptom of many different problems.
Could be low potassium which is likely when you begin b12 injections.
