Can anyone tell me if an injection fail to hit the spot for B12, I had the injection and have them on a 3 monthly basis, this time it was stinging like mad, I have that many problems caused by lacking of B12, and I can't get another blood test done until I'm due my next injection, I've now ended up with a constant twitching lower left eyelid, and having a headache on a daily basis, even though I don't think my doctor will admit that the headaches are part of the B12 problems, I already feel exhausted, and I'm totally fed up, I really don't feel that doctors understand this condition enough, all the various symptoms I have are classic conditions all caused by B12 deficiency, I'm banging my head against the wall, thanks for any input.

Injection failure?
Sounds like you need them more frequently..... many end up supplementing with their own jabs inbetween as they find three monthyl not frequent enough.
Hi Cb1963 a stinging pain can occur with intramuscular injections which may cause blood vessel breakage, muscle or nerve damage.
However I have to say that with over 600 B12 injections given by my surgery's nurses during the past 47 years i can count on the fingers of one hand those that have caused me pain.
I am not a medically trained person and wish you well
I have had injections that have stung like a bee sting. I got the b12 though. Remember you can get B12 in jections 2 monthly at least.
It wasn't easy but I managed to get more, still hoping for more symptoms ti settle.
I've had headaches of varying degrees from migrains that have gone on for days and chronic tension headaches. I've never suffered with headaches as bad as these before b12 defiency. I realise I was getting headaches and so so tired before diagnosis. I ignored all the signs thinking menopause symptoms. I was wrong.
I recently took loading doses of vit D as it was low
I'm convinced it's helped the headaches along with b12. I've been doing less walking . Strangely this has reduced headaches. I thought by going for a short walk would help them but in my case made them worse??if I try and push it makes me ill. some days even pacing t doesn't work. All very frustrating. I hope you talk to a doctor that listens if you choose to try more injections. Also you get a break from headaches. They are rotton and very dibilitating.
It sounds to me as though you need more regular injections . Most of us on this forum need to self-inject because we get reoccurrence of symptoms before the GP assigned injection .
For example I inject weekly to keep symptoms at bay .Everyone has different requirements, but this is not acknowledged by GPs
The B12 ampoules can be easily obtained from some German online pharmacies ( B12 ampoules do not require a prescription in Germany )The cost is quite modest , especially if you buy in bulk . Syringes , needles and swabs can be purchased from U.K. suppliers . If bulk bought , an injection need cost no more than about £1.20. If you feel you wish to go down this route , you can get info. on this forum .
Also remember you need a good supply of folic acid which works together with B12 ( 400 mcg is good ) Best wishes .
I am convinced my migraines were B12d linked. I don't have them anymore and they used to be debilitating. sounds like you need much more.
Once in a while I've experienced the stinging, but I think it worth mentioning that I did once make the stupid mistake of leaving a couple of vials out of the box but still in the plastic packaging, where they experienced a day of sunshine. Not sure if it was heat or sunlight, but they were definitely useless afterwards!
