b12 in fridge

Sorry two more questions please Do you need to keep the vials in the fridge? I thought they were okay out just needed to keep out of light? If your surgery wants to keep your b12 at the surgery is this legal. We have paid for them so they are our property. I have a new surgery so I don't know their policy until tomorrow but I usually keep them at home. I will be insisting on taking the rest home with me if they ask to keep them.

When I take the Daughter for hers I take them with me we have never been asked to leave them at the surgery. Injections kept in a Drawer

They should be kept below 25 c , and in the dark . If we get a heat-wave , I put mine in the top of the fridge .

Excellent advice!

(I confess the ones I keep in my car for emergencies have always been fine though).

As you say, I think the dark is the most important thing.

Yes , the ampoules may not be as sensitive to heat as we think . But the mind is a powerful thing . If we think that the B12 might have degraded due to heat , we might feel that they haven’t worked as well ! So that’s why I put them in the fridge during a heat-wave !

And that's exactly what I'd recommend, especially for others!! 😁

Just sort of saying "take every precaution, but don't panic about them if they do get slightly warm".

I'd never recommend cooking them in a car and suggest that people try to avoid ordering them in hot periods to avoid them being in hot courier's vans. It's just I keep them with me as I do really badly if I don't get them. I say to everyone I'm with that my emergency pack must go with me!

I usually keep mine out of sight in box in bedroom (unheated) under the bed, but in this weather have put them all in fridge. Opened box wrong way up yesterday and dropped one of the vials on kitchen floor >sigh<

I get a monthly supply, 4x vials and keep them in the bathroom vanity drawer.

If my supply was more, I probably would keep them in a fridge.

I have noticed that the odd injection doesn’t seem to last as long as others. I put this down to bad needle placement when injecting, like maybe hitting a blood vessel.

With the weekly injections, I seem to run out steam at day 4 or 5. I split the dose in half and inject 0.5 ml Mondays and Thursdays to get a smoother and longer lasting benefit.
