Bump. Considering ordering 30mg this weekend, as my doc is not responding to my request to extend the 6 x 2 weeks 1mg dosing, thinking in their typical B12 ignorance that it's time to go to 1/mo. Really like to hear from anyone who may have used this source, thanks
Hi SouthSounder,
I've not used the site but thought I'd drop you a line. I think a lot of posters here are from the UK and on the continent where I believe the use of Cyanocobalamin is less prevalent than in N. America, and I think there are shipping & customs issues.
I did a search and a few reviews popped up (they were mixed),
and I check Reddit if I have any query - usually always something there.
I'm sure the many experienced forum members with more knowledge will get back to you.
I'm still in the 'loading dose' phase but feeling some benefits - just trying to work it all out.
Best of luck,
Rose
Rose - Thanks for the reply. That CA source is only about 180 miles north of me, a plus for shipping time, and they seem to sell "brand name" b12 (states Sandoz or Sterimax) Their pricing's not bad, so I thought it might be worth a shot, pardon the pun... Agree about the cyano being most prominent in the US, though there seems to be some indication methyl is better, as it does not have to be metabolized the way the cyano variety does. I'd prefer the methyl, but have yet to find any of reasonable cost & availability. The cyano is cheaper to produce, and given that, like everything else in our benighted society (US), greed also dominates our health care system on every level, cyano is what predominates. The methyl is a bit less stable, my understanding is that it's especially more prone to being damaged by light.
My insurance did pay for 6 more cyano doses, just administered my 9th jab since 6/3. Wish I could say I'm experiencing the massive positive changes some report, but not yet. I will say I'm surprised how pain free the process has been.
Hi SouthSounder. Saw your post on B12 sources. I live just across the border from you in WR BC. Here in my small community there are two compound pharmacies where I can purchase B12 Methylcobalamin without a prescription. I inject myself. Not that it does me any good I still suffer from neurological damage. I’m presuming you’ve looked for a compound pharmacy within reasonable distance of your own home, if not it might be worth doing a bit of research to find one, if it exists. Given the accessibility of illegal drugs in the States you’d think it would be easy to access a simple vitamin. Crazy. Hope you find a good local source.
I should add that the compound pharmacy I use is Rexall a reputable chemist.
1healthy1 - Thanks for the reply. The methyl's probably available, but insurance always go for the cheapest, shockingly. I'm also expecting the doc to "back out" fairly soon. So far, I've only been to Vancouver in BC, where is WR? Can you tell me how much you pay for the methyl? Thanks.
