Accessing UK data from elsewhere

Someone had posted previously about being unable to access some UK sites from the US, as access is sometimes limited to UK residents. I had not encountered this until attempting to access the BNF link https%3A%2F%2Fbnf.nice.org.uk%2Fdrug%2Fhydroxocobalamin.html. However, I have been able to access this and all other links using a VPN (Virtual Privacy Network) which allows the user to select a server outside of their own physical location in order to appear to be from that server's location. I'm using a VPN called "Ghost Path", but there are quite a few of these, some even free. I selected a server in the Isle of Man, and again, have been able to access all the UK info, including the above link. I have had no trouble logging in here using VPN.

Anybody needing help setting up a VPN should find a teenage boy for advice. They will all soon be experts as this is the best way to circumvent the government's imminent 'porn block'

Well, I haven't been a teenager for about 40 years, but haven't really had any problems running under VPN when I need to. Not sure about the "porn block" thing, I use VPN mostly when using bit torrent for occasional DL's of TV programming, movies & such, though binary newsgroup access on a good server is superior to BT for that.
