Anyone else with headaches

So I've started with skull busting headaches (again) does anyone else get these caused by b12 deficiency? My doctor says it nothing to do with PA, or b12 deficiency, I'm not convinced however, and trying to get my injections increased from a 3 monthly cycle is nigh on impossible, then I'm put onto propananol as a prementative treatment, even though my blood pressure is fairly steady, I just feel they are missing a bigger picture here, as well as now getting a constant ringing in my ears and a tingling tongue, a bit like when you've touched your tongue with the tip of a small square battery, a bit like the ones in a smoke alarm, I honestly don't feel that enough attention is paid with this condition, and getting a deep chest tremor is the weirdest feeling, I normally feel hot before these headaches come on and man they are brutal, I can hear the pressure building up my head, I'm a tough cookie but boy these headaches are really getting me down as they are always happen when I'm asleep, how can you have high blood pressure if you are asleep and your body is resting, any advice guys I'd appreciate it, thanks.

Hi Cb1963 the latest guidelines on the treatment of B12 deficiency/P.A is that injections may be increased to every two/three months.

bnf.nice.org.uk/drug/hydrox...

Can you print this and show to your doctor as he may not be aware of the changes.

I am not medically trained and I wish you well

Hi cb1963, Sorry you’re feeling so bad with headaches, l get them too, mostly at night, sometimes so bad lm sweating or vomiting but for some reason my b12 is off the scale even though l don’t supplement or eat much meat so it might not be your b12. I’m only saying as l have thyroid probs and v low blood pressure but get same headaches you describe and from my own reading up on it, as headaches always at night and can’t sleep l thought it was to do with adrenal glands, which can cause headaches and disrupt sleep patterns. I’m not qualified to know but only saying as wondered if b12 might not be reason for your symptoms.. It’s so scary and frustrating finding right cause but hope you can find reason for your headaches. I’m waffling on but lm sure you’ll get some good advice and insights from people on here who are really knowledgable. Good luck, Holly

Hey thanks for your reply, I know I have a couple of cysts on my adrenal glands, but I'm not sure if this could be the cause of the headaches, but I don't know if the doctor will send me for another scan last one was 3 years ago, it's a battle trying to get something sorted out, I always feel that a diagnosis is not looked at and given tablets to perhaps mask the problems, thanks again.

I have exactly what you have just described. Really debilitating. Speaking on the phone csn set headaches off and vibrstiond on my mouth andisease nose. Also sizzling in my head. I was on paracetamol by 0700 this morning. I also have horrible sweats at times. I'm having more regular injections. Perhaos hopefully any demyelination of nerves in the brain can heal a bit in time. My most debilitating symptoms left

Fatigue cab be awful but I rest in between things. The sizzling and ringing has decreased and tends to happen when typing trying to read . No TV for weeks as that sets me off too as well as florescent lights especially. Also very noise sensitive. Drives me mad.

I've also been told the headaches may be post concussion syndrome. My fall was last August!!

I have some horrible headaches but I've been thinking mine are because I'm postmenopausal. Perhaps more b12 might help?

Probably, your correct, but I'm not sure if tablets from a health shop would be adequate, something I've not tried, but I presume they would help 'top' me up in between the injections, I really should of put that on my post and maybe folk who are getting tablets are reaping the rewards, good point, but I just feel my GPS don't understand what's going on with me, especially regarding b12 issues, I think that they are doing what the guidelines recommend, I even had to push to get the initial blood test to find out why I was feeling so tired, and guess what, I was right, I have stomach issues and I'm on long term omeprazole which in itself causes absorbtion problems, and even telling the nurse at my health centre that this can cause B12 deficiency is something all practices should be aware of, I wonder how many people don't realise that a tablet can cause even more problems for them further down the line, thanks for getting back to me though, cheers.

Did the propranolol help with your headaches? The neurologist has prescribed it for me. I've not taken it as my blood pressure on the low side and he didn't even take it or ask. Gp not got his letter yet. I've made sure I'm not getting rebound headaches too.
