So ive posted alot regarding my horendous side effects from b12 injections last one 10 weeks ago and most symptons have resolved apart from tachy in last few weeks, however yesterday took a magnesium tablet as still have muscle twitching, within around hour half later felt extremely heavy in arms and legs and became tachy, heart ok this morning but woke with numbness in toe and legs arms still quite heavy, prior to this legs arms were considebly lighter in recent weeks however were like this just after injections, has anyone else experienced this im wondering if my body just doesn't like synthetic forms of vitamins, any advice much appreciated

This is how I feel! I have svt of the heart and it’s well controlled but lately it feels it likes beating out of my chest, however I believe it’s because I’m due my injection again as my last one was about 10 weeks ago also, things had improved when I got them, and got real bad a couple of weeks back

Im scared to have any more injections because of the side effects, my store levels were low due to diet not PA my levels around 1000 or just over as tested week and bit ago (b12)

How long with diet related b12 should you require injections?

in theory, if you don't have an absorption problem then you don't need injections as you should be able to maintain your B12 levels by supplementing B12 - doses of around 10mcg a day should be sufficient.

I say 'in theory' as injections can have an impact on where people need to maintain serum B12 levels and make it much higher for some people. However, that doesn't apply to everyone.

Suggest you try using oral supplements and see how you go.

Did you have macrocytosis when you were diagnosed? If so it may be that your potassium levels need monitoring. It is very easy to overdose on potassium and the symptoms of overdose are as unpleasant and potentially life-threatening as low potassium so please consult a medical professional.

Not sure about the macrocytitis but potassium checked week ago reading 4.0

Range was from 3.5 upwards

I had a fast heart rate sitting and standing/walking fro. B12/Folate deficiency. In my case I needed more injections not less. When were your loading doses and how many did you have?

In my case my fast heart rate resolved a bit after 6 loading doses but 3 weeks later it came back! Even though my B12 must have been high. So I had another 10 alternate day injections after which it resolved and didn't come back for 5 weeks after which I had another B12.

I had 6 loading doses last one ten weeks ago but didn't get tachy until 4 weeks ago which passed but has now come back i never had any of this prior to injections?

Also if not an absorption problem then when are reading likely to be accurate how long do you wait, and how many injections do you require if stuff keeps coming back, ive only just recovered from side effects apart from these recent ones so do not want to experience living hell again, i have 3 children 9,11 and 14 and could not even function properly after injections, luckily they were on school holidays at the time, not sure what to do

My active b12 read normal but my stores were low

Ok that's different to me. My fast heart rate was when my B12 was low before treatment. I have no clue about your symptoms so I'll shut up now :)

There is absolutely zero difference between 'natural' B12 and 'synthetic' B12. Indeed, the 'synthetic' stuff is made in exactly the same way as the 'natural' stuff - it is produced by bacteria in fermentation vessels. In one case that vessel is an animal gut, in the other a stainless steel tank.

There is no possible test that anybody could use to tell the difference between B12 produced in a gut from that produced in a tank.
