Would be great if plenty of GPs went.

Is there any way that podcasts of the more relevant content could be made aware to the NHS/GPs etc in any way so they could watch if unable to go to Manchester? Appreciate that flagging this up to GPs and generally getting their attention is a challenge!

Great Idea! How can we get this to happen?

Also, is there a way we can get specific Drs emailed with this invitation?

It would be worth a try to email surgeries; at least there is no waste of paper and expensive postage. Not sure if it would end up in their Spam folder though!! Must be a way of making contact, after all, there are lots of conditions that get flagged up in an 'awareness week' and posters displayed. I know that Coeliac UK run a yearly campaign to highlight awareness among patients and GPs - that runs in May each year. Link herewith so you can see the idea:

Could be a starting point....

Do you know if PAS are sending out invitations? I feel that almost all Drs should be encouraged to attend, but presumably there are limited spaces so I presume invitations are only being sent selectively – any idea who's sending them (PAS?) and how they are selecting who they should go to?

For just one, I'd love my GP surgery to receive an invitation as they seriously need educating! But it certainly would not help if it was received from me, a mere patient, particularly as I'm currently in dispute with them about my non-treatment. I'm about to send my GP a rather long letter, at the end of which I will include information about the conference. But it would help greatly if they also received an invitation from an official source like PAS.

Re Awareness weeks, I know the Facebook group talks about a B12 awareness week, but I'm not sure what actually happens and how much publicity it gets (I'm really only getting into this in the last few months).

I sent my GP a (signed) copy of Martyn's book. He said that he had read it and passed it around the rest of the practise.

How lucky, sounds like you have a decent GP, hang onto them!

Sadly I've had the opposite experience – given two GPs info (Guidelines, Clinical Review etc) on B12 and although they've said they'd read it they obviously haven't when I see them the next time! It's almost like they don't want to find out their own understanding of B12 deficiency might be flawed. I feel like I'm dealing with children who are sticking their fingers in their ears because they don't want to listen.
