Most symptoms have subsided. Vertigo persists...

I decided to supplement b12 and folic acid after being told I had low folate (2.8) and low end of "normal" b12 (238) . I'm pleased to say almost all initial symptoms (numbness ,tingling, palpitations, nausea) have gone after 2.5 months of folic acid and a few weeks of sublingual b12. But I have developed vertigo, for the last month, which is frustratingly debilitating. I feel as though I'm constantly rocking/swaying unless laying down. Has anyone else suffered from vertigo?

I should add it wasn't a primary symptom and has only just come on recently. My GP has referred me to a rheumatologist and seems to have the attitude that if I'm not worse I just need to wait. He also doesn't think my b12 is a problem, funny how all the tingling stopped within two weeks of b12 supplements!

I'm worried the dizziness is a sign of neurological damage!

Thanks in advance 😊

The only way to rule out a neurological cause is to see a neurologist. Ask for a referral

I get all the same symptoms you mentioned plus others -- tingling, dizziness, palpitations, mental symptoms, an internal buzzy trembly feeling. I also get terrible double vision, I think from optic nerve being compromised. It's almost predictable now what order things will go away for me if I have enough B12 shots, having gone now in three separate intense spurts of dosing. The tingling is the first to be helped for me, seems almost easy to make it go away (well, except for my pinkie fingers and one heel) within just a week or so. Then eventually the palpitations subside. Then the buzzy inner shaking and double vision finally starts to get better. The dizziness and mental "unreality" symptoms improve but never completely go away. It upsets me.

My serum b-12 was 313, and I was diagnosed with PA. I haven’t been treated as of yet, but I have constant dizziness going from sitting to standing. Sometimes just sitting I have vertigo. My migraines are the worst. As I went undiagnosed for years I am getting Botox here in the US for my migraines. 31 injections in my face, head, neck and shoulders. I hope my PA treatment helps.

I have noticed bad headaches since the dizziness started. Not sure if they're migraines though. The pain seems to be mostly behind one eye and all that gets rid of it is sleeping it off.

Mine are mainly above, behind, and around my right eye. At times above my left brow. I have always had them, but here and there. Mainly around my time of the month. The last 2 years I have had 15-18 a month! Medication doesn’t always work. I tried a bunch of different ones. The Botox has decreased them, but they are still bad. So glad for all the information on this site.
