If you are injecting into your thigh muscle , then a 25 gauge x1 inch needle should be OK .Obtainable from Medisave.co.uk It is possible to get a 27 gauge needle from exchangesupplies.org , but it is longer -1 1/2 “ . Finer than 27 gauge should not be used, because of the danger of it breaking whilst in your flesh .

I am thinking about doing either my bum arm or thigh, would a 23gauge be ok? It’s the first need size I ordered ? Thanks

My GP has supplied me with 23G x1” to SI into my thighs. The 23G x 1.25” you have should be fine to use. If not, the nurse advised me to use one needle to draw the cobalamin from the ampule, then use a fresh one to inject. She said the act of drawing can blunten the needle so changing the needle would make it more comfortable.
