Have worked out only up to 2 hours out of bed a day. Weak. Thudding heart on movement now. Shaking alot different from the tremors I had. Hot flushes.aching and occasional leg Jerusalem stopping me slepping properly. Phoned for blood results but doctor wouldn't speak just asked receptionist to tell me they are fine!! She did however very make me an appointment for the morning with an other doctor?? Will try and get there . Can goes right to door. Will not gonly alone as nearly fainted when I went 4 days ago for bloods.

Will ask for more injections. Also I will buy a copy of blood results. I know B12 will probsbly be off the scale as loafing doses finished 3 weeks ago. Wish me luck. Oh also lost 9lbs. bodyweight. I am eating well so odd as I can hardly move. What I will do ifor they say no I'm not sure.

you poor pet......it sounds frightening .....I have had weeks like this, especially the near fainting and weakness ....and the thudding heart.....i rub vicks on my chest and also cuddle a hot water bottle to help with those......i had to hugely increase the amount of potassium i was taking through coconut water, bananas, prunes and supplements as some of my symptoms were definitely linked to Hypokalemia, caused when my body began using up vast amounts of potassium when making new blood cells. And i know very little about this illness, except how ghastly it is, but some people, me included, get a lot worse - if that were possible - when we start loading doses. I am now self injecting every day to try and keep on top of it and still a long way from being normal. Maybe the loading doses have kicked off loads of systems in your body and you need to keep having injections - either every second day or even every day. Have you thought about self injecting? it is an easy process, not scary at all. Sending lots of healing hugs and don't lose hope.....and make sure to take extra potassium. x.J

Thank you. Must admit self injecting not under the instruction of a doctor I do find worrying

Have you had your thyroid tested? I lost weight despite eating fine when my thyroid was overactive.

With PA, I also lost weight but that was because I couldn’t eat well.

That's OK thanks. I'm eating well as brought to me and making myself. Blood sugars feel low as though metabolic rate speeded up. ?

Has your GP tested everything ? When I first had the feeling faint, thudding heart, tremors, my GP ordered an ECG ( showed no problems) He did refer me to a respiratory clinic , and of course there was a long wait. I'd started s.i by the time I got to see a dr there but at least he was able to confirm my heart, lungs and circulation were fine.

I know my GP wouldn't be interested in my low B12 so I've continued to self inject. I can tell when I'm running low.

I hope your dr can help tomorrow.

I've been through a+e. They did a heart trace and cT a way back before low b12 found. My blood tests today are normal. I will actually pay for a copy of them and get them collected tomorrow. Another doctor did ring. He said he didn't think more B12 injections appropriate as my symptoms don't fit. As mri showed up some irregularities (cT was clear) He now wondering if they just come across low b12 and it not the cause of all my symptoms? ? It was low though 106. Thyroid test okay. After reading on this my symptoms do fit low b12. Doctor thinks too severe? So waiting for a neurologist appointment Still. So don't need to go tomorrow which is a relief as had a bad day off balance again. Doctor wasn't concerned over thudding heart. He thought due to lack of movement. So that's a vicious circle. Yes loss of weight odd.

You may well need to SI. You are describing how I felt when I first started b12 but wasn’t getting injections often enough. Once I started injections 3 x per week, took 400 and over the counter dose of iron, made sure my potassium and phosphate were ok, I started feeling so much better. I continue eating 3-4 bananas per day, orange juice and epsom salt baths for magnesium. I am a completely different person than I was a year ago. I literally felt as though my body was just going to give out. The tremors, vibrations, weakness, anxiety, panic etc. were more than i could take much longer. I couldn’t wait any longer and took charge of my own health. You just have to.

I wish you well!

I think your best option, like so many of us, will be to self-inject. At first I was horrified at the thought, but after feeling so ill for a long time, desperation outweighed the fear. A year later I can live a pretty normal life.

You cannot overdose on B12 so you have nothing to lose if other investigations have not shown another reason for your symptoms.

I wish you all the very best 😊

Thank you. Am seeing a neurologist tonight. I was referred by NHS but have been told problems and could take 18- 40 weeks to be seen. So paying. Dreading the cab journey there. At least mri explained. Feel Gp didn't take on board about getting worse again after clink of improvement .

So glad your life has improved

Good luck with your neurology appointment.

I have no firm diagnosis but my neurologist told me that he knows the benefits of B12 but his hands are tied … and even admitted that is why people have to take matters into their own hands.

Take as much information as you can with you … print everything off because when you are feeling ill it is easy to forget things.

I print off my list of questions as well and just pass everything over when I arrive. They are always grateful and ask to keep things on their file.

Let us know how you get on.

Neurologist reassured me the abnormalities on mri were nothing sinister. Putting me on 2 monthly B12 injections and will inform g.p. He thinks symptoms were severe but due to low b12 (106) told me to take vit c and d .

I'm taking folate too.

Hope you get on alright too.

Still early days for recovery as so so weak and jittery . Legs not working properly and walking takes all concentration and that's round the house. Will get there.

You take care

Other people here will be able to advise you all the different supplements you need because I am still learning.

Glad to hear that you had a good appointment and that you can now look forward to feeling better,

I started self injections 8 months ago and haven’t looked back. Doctors told me my b12 was “fine”. Make sure you take folic acid and eat lots of potassium rich foods. Keep an eye on your iron levels and take a b complex every once in a while. Take care.

Sorry to hear this. Perhaps they will restart injections after a break. I had a terrible time on the loading dose and 2 weeks after. Still jittery vision poor and sheer exhaustion but better than I was.

Do hope you get what you need . Take care
