I got my first injection today!!!!!

I had made an appointment with my PC Dr 2 weeks ago after reading your responses to my questions. While there today I told her that I didn't think the oral tabs are working and I want the injections. She looked in her computer and said that my B12 was at the low end but still within normal limits. I asked what it was and she said 102. She agreed to start me on the injections. One every 2 weeks for 3 months then 1 a month after that. Thanks guys...

Well done for persevering Whatdayisit .

As you are in the U.S I guess your injections are cyanocobamalin B12 which explains why you will be getting "maintenance" shots every four weeks as I have been having since 1972.

Here in the U.K. we are prescribed hydroxocobamalin B12 which caused me to have an allergic reaction when it was introduced in the mid 1980s so I have continued with the cyano ever since. However hydroxo injections are given every three months which many folk find to be insufficient.

Do you know if your Folate level was checked?

I wish you well and hope you start to feel better soon.

Some great suggestions there and congratulations on pushing for injections which will help your body process the B12 more quickly,

Good luck & let us know how you get on.

Wegewood & clivealive are both some of our experts in this and they share so willingly to help others. I am sure there are also others who are experts. Actually fbirder is on the ball with this also and willing to share. Sorry if I have missed some of our other experts but my time on this site certainly does not qualify me as one as I have not been on here for long,

All the best

Hi,

I just did my own at home. I wonder why this is so so difficult as it literally costs pennies.

Best of luck with the injections 😊
