Although my b12 was 108 and I tested positive for parietal cell antibodies, my internist and my gastroenterologist both claim in my charts that I do not have PA. I’m so upset and tired of fighting for healthcare in Canada where the govt bleeds you dry in taxes and you’re stuck with overpaid quacks who only care about their oversized pay cheques, prostituting themselves to Big Pharma, and protecting each other in their crime commission.

You can actually get injectable B12 over the counter in Canada.

The PCA antibody test is, unfortunately, prone to give false positives so doesn't actually prove you have PA as the cause of a B12 absorption problem.

Assuming that you aren't vegan the low levels would be indicative of an absorption problem, and even if it is PA the most likely treatment is going to be B12 injections for life.

Thank you Gambit62. Likely the malabsorption was caused by the poisonous medications. I have been clean from Big Pharma for 14 weeks now - so hopefully my stomach will heal from the crippling consequences of ignorant drug-peddling quacks.

Thanks, beginner1. I will start self-injecting ASAP even though the quacks won’t like it because I might get better and no profit for them if I do. Sadly, lots of profit in making and keeping us sick, eh? Criminal.

I tested positive for parietal cell antibodies too but negative for intrinsic factor which apparently means I don't have pernicious anaemia. However I went back to my gastroenterologist early to ask for investigation for autoimmune Gastritis as positive parietal can be a sign. She agreed with me and sent me for an endoscopy. They found a submucosal lesion at the top of my stomach and I was referred for Urgent CT with contrast the next week. Scared crap out of me. Anyway... Scan came back totally clear. Still waiting to see gastroenterologist so not sure if anything else like gastritis yet. From what I have read I am wondering if the lesion is autoimmune gastritis. I have achlorhydria (no stomach acid) so it would add up. They're not interested in that either.... Frustrating.

Anyway my point being that the fact that you tested positive for this should be investigated! It is linked to why you don't absorb b12. My b12 was 132 and I felt awful. I'm on 12 weekly injections.
