Thank you for this wedgewood I am just printed it out to give to my doctor. I am one of those percentages that show high B12 n blood but I am not absorbing it at all, possibly due to my history of gastritis. A family history in fact of gastritis and P.A. xX

If you have high B12 in the blood then you must be absorbing it.

Do you mean that you have high levels in the blood but it doesn’t enter the cells?

My blood levels show high, but I have enlarged blood cells, low oxygen etc, bad nerve damage, balance problems, ataxia. Now I am self injecting every other day recommended from B12 doctor I am slowly, very slowly starting to heal I think! My thyroid and adrenals are down too. I was undermedicated for thyroid for 18 years...

Hi Katherine 123 , do you take b12 oral supplements or multi vitamins as they can give a false high level in blood but not in cell level

I am self injecting daily Annnon58 as per B12 doctor's instructions. I do take multi b vit too which has folate in it. Mine use to show high in blood even when I did not take any supplements or injections :0(

Somehow or other I've achieved the status of a six star "guru" but we need more knowledgeable contributors such as there are on here.

Oh clivealive ....I'm just having a good chuckle at the term 'six star guru'...but in the nicest possible way because it's well deserved.

Go, go guru... 😀

Interesting article, thank you Wedgewood.

I thought having IBS, and hypothyroidism, especially the auto immune condition Hashimoto's was another cause of low B12? I was hoping to see those listed too!
