Low serum folate 4.2 ug/L how low is low? Folic acid and nose bleeds I feel so tired

Low serum folate 4.2 ug/L I’ve been given some folic acid I was given folic acid a few months ago and it made me have nose bleeds has this happened with anyone else?

also I wondering My Serum b12 was 271 ng/l is this normal? I was told it’s fine? same with serum ferritin was 61ug/l

The best thing to do is find out the ranges for the blood tests that you have had then you can check your actual level with the ‘normal’ range to see if you are low.

The range is usually shown on the blood test report in brackets after the actual result.

I would guess from your actual result that folate is low or low in range and B12 is in range albeit on the low side.

As Jan has mentioned, you will get better advice if you could include the ranges for the tests, including the 'mol/L' and such like. You can edit your original post if you click on the 'More' under your post (I think that's the option) Check it out, eh?

I've not heard of Folic Acid being associated with nose bleeds but I know 'nuffink' so maybe others have some advice for you.

I would expect others, much more knowledgable than myself, will be on here sometime tomorrow. They've maybe been out having a good weekend
