Is it both arms or one arm in particular?

B12 tends to be symmetric.

It isn't unusual for aches and pains to get a little worse when you start on loading doses - after being starved of B12 for a while some systems seem to go into overdrive for a while - which includes the processes that control neurotransmitters. The immune system can also go into temporary overdrive.

Its always possible that you father may have hurt his arm.

B12 doesn't preclude the use of painkillers.

unfortunately paranoia is part of the territory if you are B12 deficient - so that may also get slightly worse or it could just start improving.

Some people do find the injections quite painful - and I've had occasions where the stinging has gone on for quite a while.

it is little long term process if any one is suffering from B12 deficiency. Maintain your dad diet add Vitamin rich food and if you are non veg try taking fish and red meat 1-2 day in a weak. Add probiotics like one cup of curd daily add into your dad diet it is good for digestion and absorbing B12. We suffer from Vitamin B12 deficiency because of our own mistakes because we focus on macro nutrients not on micro nutrients, consuming a multivitamin as a tablet and vitamin rich food is very important for good nervous system. I suffered from B12 deficiency but by gods grace i am improving day by day.

Someone may be giving the shot in the wrong place and hitting the nerve in the arm. I have given myself shots for 17 years and they do not hurt, but once I decided I would move the injection site a little more forward on the arm and OUCH, I hit the nerve. Not only did it hurt at the time, but it hurt for a few days and also caused odd sensations. Stay toward the outside of the arm when giving shots. PS, and don't use a horse needle.

So here i am again back with symptoms. From last 1 month i was feeling good and i felt like i never had this problem but from yesterday only i started feeling stiffness in neck and back. I feel little bit disbalance strokes but not very much like before. Little bit of confusion and little bit of shakiness i feel when i wake up in the morning.

i had 12 shots of methycobal and medication like etizlam, spinfree & MDD-50 one month back and from last 1 month i was feeling like i never had this problem but my bad its again back with little bit of symptoms so Dr advised me to continue same medication with weekely methycobal 500 mg shots.

Due to medicines i feel dizzy this is very irritating and i have to conti these medicine for 1 month as prescribed by Dr. My concern is this problem will be healed forever or it will knock my door as a guest on monthly or yearly basis.

If you have an absorption problem, you should take B12 shots or sublingual the rest of your life. It's hard for me to believe you feel different from one day to the next due to B12. It is stored in the liver and is used a little at a time. But you need to get the levels up not only in the blood, but the liver.

I was on medication and getting injected once in 2 weeks, From last 2 months i was feeling ok not feeling any anxiety, nor walking swings. I forgot that i have any problem. Last week I had an appointment with my Dr and he changed the medicine by looking a my situation that i am well now and from last two days i am feeling restless, drowsiness, Pain in backside of neck again. Just curious to know is this due to the medicine which he gave to me Nuhenz(combination of Mecobalamin,Benfotiamine, folic acid,Chromium Polynicotinate,Myo-Inositol and Pyridoxine hydrochloride)

Maybe injecting in the thigh or the butt would be less painful 😊

I definitely found the hip/butt way less painful that the arm sometimes was!

I self-inject into the thigh - no pain from the needle at all - just a little when the liquid is slowly entering :-)

Im sure they have already explained this, but just incase they haven't, it is painful if you tense your arm and if you don't it's pretty painless. Some doctors are more skilled at giving injections than others. My partner says I complain of pain if he injects the medication faster and don't feel it much if he injects the medication slowly. Obviously putting needle in slowly would increase pain though.

It's common to get nerve pain after injections as it's a sign of nerve damage healing I believe.

Hi ask the nurse to inject slightly higher up on arm I find this less painful unfort it does sting , I find rubbing it straight away. Helps and a wee bit of arnica cream on after it try that X

Sorry that your Dad’s arm is so sore. My experience is that it’s who does the injection - the last two were both painful, so I will be avoiding those two nurses in future. My husband does additional injections when I need them and they don’t hurt at all - (it’s the upper quadrant of the buttocks (fairly high up). I hope this helps.
