Hi tnkarthik28

If you have Pernicious Anaemia then you will be on B12 (is it cyanocobamalin?) injections for the rest of your life. They won't affect your GPC Antibodies.

Ask your doctor to check your Folate level as this and the B12 you are having help your iron to make red blood cells and to function properly in your body.

What symptoms do you still have?

Please be assured that there is life after P.A. as I've had it for 46 years and I'm still "clivealive" and over 75 years of age.

I am not a medically trained person.

The B12 injections are a treatment for the main problem caused by PA - B12 deficiency. They are a treatment not a cure for PA.

The GPC antibodies are your auto-immune system reacting inappropriately and at the present there is no known cure for this.

If you don't have GPC then you won't be able to absorb B12 from your food which is why you have injections. It may also affect the absorption of other minerals and vitamins, particularly iron and folate - so worth monitoring those levels as well.

both,

Thanks for your valuable comments & very sorry for the late reply. Actually I have been completely unwell for the last two weeks with the antibiotics treatment as Helicobacter Pylori was found in the last endoscopy which is second time in the last 6 months.

I thIink my situation is cyclic & worse. As the doctors failed to treat on time my B12 due to PA, I have ended up with Atrophic gastritis & low stomach acid. So, nothing gets digested which gives the room for bacterial over growth. Also the presence of helicobacter pylori once in 6 months. so i need to take the antibiotics which spoils the entire gut flora.

At Atrallel, my vitiligo is also spreading actively.

My Mystrin in serum is always elevated (in the last blood test it was 1200 & I understand the range is within 100) also high anti-GPC. Also, I don’t have the appetite/absolutely no hungriness at all since the atrophic Gastritis was detected in 2016 & losing weight constantly, though I eat lot of food.

Bu now I am with bi-weekly B12 injections both B12 & Folic acids are ok. But my Ferritin level is also going down for which I am convincing the doctors to put me an Iron injection.

So son’t know what to do & I am completely lost.

high gastrin along with GPC is real indicator that the underlying problem is PA - no stomach acidity is going to affect everything - including iron. There is no cure for PA so all you can do is continue taking the injections as frequently as you need to keep the symptoms of B12 deficiency away and supplement other vitamins and minerals as deficiencies manifest. Possible that the pharmacist may be more useful in suggesting something suitable for the iron but please do take proper medical advice as you can overdose on iron and interpreting the results of a full iron panel can be quite difficult - each measure can look deficient on its own for other reasons than your iron levels, so you need the whole picture.
