Has anyone tried this: biovea.net/uk/product_detai...

It appears to contain only vegetables and nothing that could upset the body or the mouth. I'm dubious about grapefruit seed extract because of how it is made and do my best to avoid using it but I don't think it would cause any upset.

aside from the B12 - which is methyl it does indeed seem to only contain fruit and veg extracts.

The B12 isn't going to be from plant sources.

Personally I'd rather be taking my B12 without all the other gubbins

Have you tried methyl before? some people find it very useful but others find that it either has no effect and in others it can cause anxiety.

Is the methyl in the yeast this product contains? I don't fully appreciate all the terms for B12. I have not tried methyl before. I am so ridiculously sensitive to things, from what you say, it will probably affect me adversely. I did wonder at the ambiguous product name B12, when it is packed full of veg!

the product uses methylcobalamin as the form of B12 it contains - this will have been manufactured in vats rather than being distilled from any natural products

That is the bit I did not understand the methylcobalamin is from a yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, it sounds nasty. A little like citric acid which is not from citrus fruit but made in a factory from a mould aspergillus niger and maltodextrin. So how on earth can they call it organic? It is a very tricky business finding food that keeps one healthy.

I’ve seen this at the health food store but I take Solgar Liquid B Complex ($10 for a 60 day supply i believe) from amazing and i like it best. i’m sensitive to everything and I don’t get any bad reactions

That sounds good, but it has citric acid and this makes my skin feel like it is burning from the inside. It is so difficult to find a supplement that I can tolerate. I eat eggs and red meat - perhaps I just need to up that. It maybe that I need folic acid as I cannot tolerate grains but then I'm a good girl with my green leafy veg. The reason I was wondering is because symptoms started again. However what had helped my symptoms is wearing a copper bangle and when the symptoms started again I had removed my bangle and forgotten all about it - it seemed bizarre to me that not wearing the bangle for a few days produced symptoms. I wear the bangle because copper helps the iron leave the iron stores to go to the red blood cells. I have written about this, so I should know better but it is amazing how one loses the plot when one is iron deficient!

Ah I see. that’s a tough one. I’ve also found that taking the right ratio of folate, b12 and iron does wonders for my mood and health. A lack of one or two seems to throw the others out of balance. Have you considered trying a multi with all of them? I really like Feroglobin. it only has 14 mg of iron which is under the daily recommended value for women and is food based. I just checked the label and it doesn’t seem to have citric acid. it has all the b vitamins and zinc as well.

I’ve tried so many different types of supplements but they all cause a problem. I can take a mineral supplement that has iron in. I don’t need iron as I have plenty in the iron stores - this is why I’ve been looking at B12 and folate. But have to say - copper braclet seems to be helping so perhaps I am on the right track and I just need to remember to put it back on! Thank you so much for your replies. I hope you are keeping well.
