Hi, I’ve had my first two loading doses this week and am also taking iron and folate. Since yesterday I’ve been getting cramps in my calf. Does anyone know if this could be related to any of the treatment?

The only reason i wouldnt take a potassium suppliment is because they only contain up to 99 mg. Way too small a dose. RDA for potassium is 4700mg. It is alot! Banana appox 400 mg, potatoe appox 800-900mg. I was eating a banana, a potatoe and drinking 2-3 fruit punch flavored vitamin waters daily (880mg) when i was cramping after initial b12 injections!!! I tried coconut water as it has a good amount of potassium but i dont like the taste.

I got these drinks at walmart for .93 each. The fruit punch flavored ones are the only vitamin waters with any decent amount of potassium.

Hi Kookookichoo, as already said, your potassium could be a little low. Eating potassium Rich foods very important. Banana, kiwi, avocado, mango and many more. Also I started taking magnesium maleate for excruciating leg cramps some months ago and it has really helped. Worth looking into. Best wishes
