Candida?

Hi all I've been thinking a lot recently what Is wrong with me, whether it's pernicous anemia or b12 deficiency etc. I've had many many tests done and each comes back in range but on the low side...so I've been sorting that with SI every other day along with cofactors. I also have a few specialist to see this week and next.

Anyway I decided to think way back to my first symptoms and it was candida, oral, in my hair and thrush. I treated it with doctors usual prescription but it kept coming back...until I began SI every other day and then it left. I've done some research the past few days and have read that candida can actually cause b12 deficiency. So I wonder.....could this be the root of my problem? I'm gluten but still when I eat anything I get a acid reflux...drowsy/dizzy and occasionally throw it back up.

Had anyone else here been diagnosed with a stomach based problem such as candida, h. Pylori or another bacteria overgrowth that has actually caused the b12 deficiency?

Sorry I know it's a long post but I really feel I have struck gold with this. I used to have a veeerry high sugar and alcohol diet (student) now I am home I don't drink. But I do get incredible cravings for sugar...like I can taste is in my mouth before I get it which can be linked with bacteria over growth.

Just wacted to learn if anyone else had been diagnosed with this and how the treated it? I'm going to ask the docor the same next time I go.

Thanks for reading ☺

Hi,

I used to have regular yeast and fungal infections but hardly ever since I started B12.

Good luck with finding answers.

Thank you for your reply ☺ yes I've noticed mine have stopped too .... going to investigate this more because i think this could be the rout of all music problems. ☺

h pylori is a treatable absorption problem.

The acid reflux sounds like it is probably low stomach acidity - which could be result of PA.

Frequent fungal infections are a possible result of B12 deficiency because of the effects on the immune system.

Yea I think that also.....I read that if you mix water with baking soda and drink it in the morning before eating and don't burp then it shows low stomach acid...Pribably not doctor approved 😂 but I'm going to try it anyway. Just back from a private heamotologist today and he said my bloods were all fine..I brought him all my results since March printed out and he said there is something wrong with me due to symptoms but not blood related. (Though he didn't seem to know a lot about b12 deficiency /PA which was disappointing) he did however send me for a gastroscopy and Brain scan and he will be writing to my doctor. So at least that came of it and hopefully something will show what's wrong. Thanks Gambit62 for replying ☺

I suffer badly under Candida. I have been yeast free for nearly 10 years and this helps the symptoms immensely.

I recently started having problems with numb toes and fingers. The Drs found I am B12 and folate deficient.

Your post is the first time I've encountered a connecting between the two.

I've been taking folic acid and B12 supplements for two weeks... If I see any improvement in any of my symptoms going forward I'll let you know.

Thank you for your post.

I've heard that after the diet and aggressive measures, that are usually prescribed, saccharomyces boulardii can be very effective for candida overgrowth. This site explains how it works.

I'm SI alternate days but still feel it is a problem so will try this.

I have just been told I have h.pylori so am being treated for that. so I wasn't far off....perhaps it wasn't candida but it was a bacteria that caused an ulcer. so perhaps look into that? but venue saying that through research I have seen a link between candida and b12 deficiency

If you get symptoms of gastroparesis I would look into getting your choline levels checked. Excessive Candida depletes choline and when choline is deficient b12 takes its place in vagus nerve health.

I have not proven this yet but ill be speaking to my doc next week and get tested for Candida overgrowth and choline level checked. I have to take sublingual b12 twice daily to stop my gastroparesis if I stop my stomach bloating/gas/constipation returns.
