Hi Andypandy30. Oh dear, so,sorry that your GP won't pay attention to,your symptoms and revert back to more frequent injections. Unfortunately, it's something we hear a lot 😱.

Here's links to syringes, needles, sharps bin...and vitamin B12 (reliable sources, used by many here:

medisave.co.uk/b-d-microlan... (Blue needles for injecting)

medisave.co.uk/b-d-microlan... (Green needles for drawing up)

medisave.co.uk/b-d-2ml-plas... (2ml syringes for 1ml x 1mg hydroxocobalamin - 2ml syringe gives more room for manoeuvre when drawing up)

medisave.co.uk/sharpsguard-... (For safe disposal of needles/syringes)

versandapo.de/article/detai... (Link to 100 x 1mg in 1ml hydroxocobalamin - cheaper way to buy but same also available in packs of 10).

(I think the site also sells cyanocobalamin if you would prefer that form of B12.)

Versandapa - can pay by PayPal, has English version website, supplies arrive in about 4-5 days.

Two potential methods for injection - intramuscular - in muscle (IM) or deep subcutaneous - deep under skin (SC) - both as effective, matter of personal preference. I find IM easier since it's just a matter of inserting the needle at a 90 degree angle. Lots of videos on YouTube if you need some guidance.

Good idea to practice on an orange if you haven't self-injected before (use water 😉) - will give you confidence in handling syringe.

If you have not injected with hydroxycobalamin before you will need to get the first injection done under medical supervision - or in a location where medical attention is immediately available. In rare cases anaphylactic shock can occur and this would need immediate and urgent medical attention

If you revert to your previous injection regime and you still don't feel any better, worth considering if anything else is going on. Low folate, ferritin or vitamin D can give symptoms similar to those of B12 deficiency - so,worth getting those checked if no improvement. And, of course, investigate other potential causes for your continuing ill-health.

Good luck with the SI - let us know how you get on and come back if you need more help.

Hope you feel better soon.

👍
