It just seems new things are always popping up....

And I don't know if part of it is related to my b12 deficiency recovery. I have been on injections since May 4th, - started with that one, then one 3 weeks later, then 2 a week until 2 weeks ago, now 1 a week for I don't know how long. I feel like I am getting a tad better and then something else comes along. My vision improves, and then it is bad again. My headaches are better, then I have a headache. New one - and I can't even believe this could be related - my blood pressure is all over the place. I am on a BP medication for migraine prevention and have had a few bouts of "low" high blood pressure, but yesterday it was super high and I felt awful. Also, the past few days I have had extreme hot flashes that then make me not feel well, and with it goes up the BP. I have added extra vitamins to my daily routine and it seems that is about the time this got worse. I do see the Dr. on Thursday, but I am beyond frustrated and just want to feel well again. Does this sound like something even remotely affected by B12 deficiency? Thank You. I do have the standard things with B12 - fuzzy head, vision issues, dizziness, balance problems - improving, memory issues.

Are you in the U.K? Your pattern of injections seem to be in the reverse order to the norm.

Usually one starts with loading doses on alternate days until there is no further improvement then on a "maintenance" schedule of 8 to 12 weeks depending on whether there is a neurological involvement.

Having said that it is not uncommon for some symptoms to appear to get worse before they get better whilst others improve quickly. A lot will depend on the severity and longevity of the deficiency.

As the B12 starts to repair the damage to your nerve endings the brain all of a sudden is getting signals from parts of the body it had "forgotten" about. It's a bit like a badly tuned in radio set with the volume turned up high to catch what's being said when all of a sudden the signal becomes chrystal clear and "BOOOM" you're deafened. Perhaps not a very good analogy but there you go it's the best I can do at this time of night.

I wish you well - goodnight

I am in the u.s. Initially they weren't going to give me loading doses, which is why it was a 3 week delay father the first injection. The best I could get was the twice a week for 3 weeks, then weekly. We shall see where it goes from here...I see my doctor this week. Lots of vision issues remain, but comes and goes. Headaches less frequent, but yes other things keep cropping up. I hate this. Thank you for the analogy.

Im in US also and our doctors know very little AND have no guidelines to work with.

If you feel better for a day or two and then crash back down, you need more.

In the US we can get b12 injections from weight loss centers. Call around, on a good day, until you find one that offers straight b12 injections, 1000mcg, not the weight loss ones because those only have appox 300 mcg of b12 per injection.

Also concerning your blood pressure, please look into potassium deficiency. The test our doctors do on potassium on a comprehensive metabolic panel (cmp) is on the levels in the blood not cellular. The cellular level can drastically change once receiving b12 injections and cells start spliting. Rda for potassium is 4700 mcg and my high quality multivitamin only has 49 mcg!!! Im not suggesting anything crazy with potassium because too much can be bad.... but i am suggesting you get the rda of 4700 mcg. I thought i was getting enough in my seriously healthy diet but i was not even getting close.

I suppliment with fruit punch flavor of Vitamin Water from Walmart. Other flavors do not have even half the amount of potassium as the fruit punch flavor. 93 cents per bottle.

Best wishes and i hope you feel better soon.
