Hello all,
Have been reading about the importance of folate with B12.
I take a standard multivit/mineral supplement which contains folic acid, should I consider a methyl-folate supplement instead? If so, should I stop taking the multivit?
Thanks!

Do you have any idea what your Folate level is?
We can source Folate via our food by eating leafy green vegetables, sprouts, broccoli, spinach, asparagus, peas, beans etc. Also many breakfast cereals are now fortified with folic acid so if you have a good diet, and don't have an absorption problem with your stomach with what you are already supplementing you may be getting enough.
Ask your doctor to test your Folate level and go from there.
I wish you well
For the vast majority of people methylfolate is no better than folic acid, and may be worse.
Take 400 ug of folic acid a day and eat a decent diet and your folate levels should be fine.
I take 5mg of folic acid daily along with my "HAPPY PILL". I've been told on here that I'm on quite a high dose but as I can't absorb it from my diet them I'm stuck with that.
