I've a nasty feeling we'll be seeing more of such reports.

When my injections for PA were stopped in 2011, I bought 1000 mcg tablets and took several a day. They made no difference. A lucky few may be able to absorb B12 via passive diffusion, but I know I'm not one of them.

I use sublingual B12 to top up but find injections work best.

I worry that this is a cost cutting exercise.

Can anyone else give links to research out there that shows that oral tablets are as effective?

I wonder if any research that does exist concentrates on raising blood levels of B12 rather than effect on symptoms?

a number of smaller scale studies do show that high dose oral can be as effective as injections but that is more about maintenance than initially raising B12 levels.

this is link to a survey of studies on the topic

and yes on the concentrations in blood rather than evaluating of symptoms - that does seem to be the major part of the study.
