Hi ive recently been diagnosed with pa ,although looking back ive had it for years .ive had the 6 booster injections , now waiting to find out what happens next .
Hi all: Hi ive recently been diagnosed... - Pernicious Anaemi...
Hi all
Hi Duranie, So are you feeling better for the 6 loading injections? Any marked improvement/difference? Am curious as I have just been offered 6 injections over 2 weeks (usual programme), starting next Monday. No firm diagnosis of PA, but GP said bloods tests, including B12 4 weeks after 2 weeks treatment to see what happens.... the wait and see game begins... If your GP not tell you what to expect next it would be a good idea to drop him/her a line to ask what is to follow the B12 loading doses.
Good luck to you.
Hi JGBH , the pain in my fingers stopped almost straight away . Today nearly a week after my last injection the tiredness and lack of energy hit me hard .
It's good to know the pain in fingers stopped so rapidly but quite disappointing that tiredness and lack of energy have returned so soon after stopping injections. Do your very best to contact your doctor. The best perhaps would be to write to him stating what improvement you got and then the returning problems only one week after injections stopped, and asking him to authorise more injections. Gambit has advised me to make notes of my symptoms before I start and during treatment (2 weeks) and afterwards, so perhaps you could do the same. Very useful when you visit your GP. Good luck.
good to hear treatment was offered relatively quickly. Are you in the UK ?
Yes i am x
welcome.
suggest that you go through a checklist of symptoms - mark everything that applies and keep a diary of any changes.
