I had my first b12 injection the other day and am feeling very anxious and my heart is beating very fast. Went to the dr and had an abnormal ekg. Could this be from the b12 shot?

No mam, I think you may just be anxious. I take them daily.

I think you are correct.

I think it is very unlikely that the B12 injection would cause this symptom. What did the doctor say after your ECG result? Had you had a very low level of B12 prior to getting your injection?

I felt very odd when i first had mine last year. Heart racing, feeling wired but tired, not knowing what to do with myself. It did pass and now I inject regularly with no side effects.

Do you happen to know what kind of B12 you had in the injection? If it was Methylcobalamin, I think it may have been responsible for your rapid heart rate. At least I had a very similar reaction to it, but am absolutely fine with hydroxocobalamin. I haven't been able to find an explanation for this, but now avoid methylcobalamin, and haven't had any further problems. Might be worth finding out.

Hi Casjar21 do you know why you are having B12 injections and also do you know what your Folate level is as this is essential to process the B12?

No idea, just took the shot BC I thought it would give me more energy. I'm thinking I won't do it again!

I am sorry you had a problem with your b-12 injection. B-12 should not be the cause of the problem as it goes into your body and then is removed by your urine. I hope you are feeling better soon.
