Hi, did you have B12 and folate checked? There is macrocytosis, meaning blood cells are enlarged. This may also be caused by alcohol, as noted. Any symptoms?

If it was me, I'd get B12 and folate checked.

Could too much folate cause this. Thanks for your reply. I have posted other blood results on another post as I couldn't get two pages on one post - if you know what I mean.

Too little folate or B12 can cause it

Hi,

I noticed that your MCV and MCH appear to be high. I have read that high MCV and High MCH can indicate the possibility of macrocytosis (enlarged red blood cells). Macrocytosis is sometimes found in B12 deficiency...can also be found in folate deficiency as well.

Too much folate can mask a B12 deficiency, although I can see from previous posts that you've already been diagnosed as B12 deficient and have been self injecting.  Your Vit D levels are good now so you may want to cut this back to a maintenance dose.  I can see that your TSH is at 2.6 so it's possible that the fatigue may be related to this - are you taking any thyroid medication?

I'm not taking any thyroid medication. TSH @ 2.6, does this indicate that my thyroid is under or over active. My Mum, Nan and Aunt have all had thyroid problems - should I approach my GP as she's said my thyroid is fine..

If thyroid problems run in your family, then it's not really surprising that you may have them too although until your TSH rises to over the upper reference range, most GPs will tell you that you're fine and you don't have a problem (and it often as to go considerably over before you're taken seriously).  Thyroid problems and vitamin deficiencies often go hand in hand as you will find if you take a look at the Thyroid UK forum on here and an awful lot of the symptoms overlap.  A list of hypothyroid symptoms can be found here:

I started out last year convinced I had a thyroid problem (which I do) but got no help from my GP.  I then discovered I had B12 and D deficiencies as well.
