Bioplasma Salts - Anyone with experience?

Hello :)

I've been reading so much in trying to ascertain which supplements I really need and came across homeopathic salts and was wondering if anyone here has been using them. For economic reasons I've ended up purchasing Hyland's BioPlasma Salts which contain 12 "essential cell salts".

Does anyone here have a good experience with this brand, or do think it's a bit of a "snake oil" product?

here's a link to the brand I've already purchased:

healthmonthly.co.uk/hylands...

Unfortunately I've just received an email to tell me they are currently out of stock so I will have to wait a while until I can give them a shot, but in the meantime, I'd love to hear other people's opinions or experience on this type of supplement.

For anyone that may be interested in this topic but who doesn't want to bother visiting the site to find out what is in these cell salts, here is a list of the ingredients:

Ingredients

Calcarea Phosphorica 3X HPUS.

Calcarea Sulphurica 3X HPUS: 3 calcium cell salts bring elasticity and circulation to muscle tissue, restore tone and strength, and aid in the removal of waste products from the blood.

Ferrum Phosphoricum 3X HPUS: Provides oxygen to the blood, feeding the nerves, muscles & blood vessels.

Kali Muriaticum 3X HPUS.

Kali Phosphoricum 3X HPUS.

Kali Sulphuricum 3X HPUS 3 potassium cell salts act as 1. Nerve nutrients to aid in breathing and sharpen mental faculties; 2. Oxygen carriers to benefit perspiration and respiration; 3. Blood purifiers aid in the removal of waste products from the blood.

Magnesia Phosphoricum 3X HPUS: Ensures rhythmic movement of the muscles, relieves muscular twitching and cramps.

You missed:

Inactive Ingredients:

Acacia Gum, Lactose N.F.

Ironically, many people here have suggested that acacia and/or lactose (which are present in some thyroid hormone products) are actually the cause of some "side effects".

Thanks for your input helvella. I'm more interested in the alleged "active ingredients" for discussion, though I am aware that some people have issues with the fillers in a lot of supplements, fortunately I don't.

Sorry, no experience but does sound like snake oil to me. If you are B12 deficient, probably better to focus finances there.

Emjaytee in reply to Secondchance

Thanks secondchance :) I have the B12 sorted and just been looking to put a few other things into balance. I like the sound of these and they've had extremely good reviews on Amazon but I guess I'll find out if they're snake oil tabkets, lol. I'm very sensitive to changes in my own biochemistry so will let you know if I feel any benefit from them but don't hold your breath! .

HI Emjay. Throwing in my two pence worth - anything marked homeopathic is at best a waste of money and at worst a conniving exploitation. Time after time homeopathic medicine has been shown to be a con extraordinaire and has no medicinal merit whatsoever. The 'medicine' is dilute to such a degree that it is completely inefficacious. They often use the comparison of 'it works like vaccination - a little of the 'disease' cures the disease' but the dilution used in homeopathic medicines is so ridiculously small you are effectively eating sugar pills. Any effect they are purported to have by users is purely one of placebo.

As for "the essential cell salts", your body gets any salts it needs from your food and most people eat too much salt - no supplementation is needed. So yes, it's snake oil. Save your money for something that works - like genuine vitamins.

Spoken like a loyal allopath. Our body is a complicated electrical system. To understand homeopathy one must study frequencies and their relationship to our bodies/system.

When I hear mention of "energies" or "frequencies", etc, it is a red flag. These things are usually imaginative theories. They are not actually measurable.

Too true - meaningless prattle spouted by con-artists and regurgitated ad nauseum.

How many double-blind, large-scale, peer-reviewed studies have there been to show the effectiveness of homeopathic remedies?

Clue - the answer is round.

OK Prytulas, instead of telling us what we must study, how about starting some explanation?

What you write sounds rather like music of the spheres.

Hello!

I have been using a homeopathic doctor for 15 years . I was very sick 15 years ago and I had swollen glands for months the doctors put me on all kinds of antibiotics and basically could not figure out what the problem was ...so I decided to go elsewhere ... and I went to a accredited Homepathic doctor who basically cured me in 2 months ...so people don’t knock something you have not tried ...I mean seriously they thought I had cancer ...but don’t get me wrong I believe in going to doctors .. it’s just that they don’t have all the answers open your mind people! And yes I have used Bioplasma for years they a miracle pills ... check out the reviews on Amazon!

Hi Jerry, not trying to burst your bubble here, but your experience is a common one and many doctors have pointed out similar 'miracle' cures for everything from cancer to warts. As they very sensibly (if annoyingly) point out, the sufferer has been receiving Western medicine just as you were, right up till your miracle cure, therefore the cure is far more likely the chemotherapy/antibiotics etc than the alternative medicine that followed or was running concurrently. If you'd only ever had your 'miracle' cure my guess is you'd be even sicker now. I'm afraid Alexander Fleming is owed more credit than your homoeopathist!

Hi Chancery!

My guess your going by what you choose to read ...and maybe you have never tried going to a Homeopathic doctor???

So ...I have first hand knowledge..that’s not the only thing that my doctor has cured ...

I hope you have good health in 2018

Best !

No, going by scientific evidence, Jerry, and personal experience with my father who took homeopathic pills for years for an ulcer, which they didn't help or cure - not least because he probably didn't have an ulcer, but gallstones! And the very best of luck to you too - hope you continue to have good health!

I’m so sorry to hear about your father !

I hope he was under the guidence of a Homeopathic doctor !

Best of luck

I'm afraid it was not only the homoeopathic doctor that got it wrong, but the 'real' one too! As far as I know my dad never got the correct diagnosis of gallstones. I only know that's probably what he had because I got them myself in my 50s and I told the docs I thought it was an ulcer like my dad (our symptoms were identical). Sadly, they took my word for it and I didn't find out I had gallstones till years later when they nearly felled me with pain!

It's ironic that my dad's misdiagnosis was carried on into my life many years later. It shows you the dangers of a) assuming anything without testing and b) giving doctors an easy out instead of insisting on testing. They'll just take it!

I often wonder if I had been tested straight away (likewise for my father) we would both have been saved a lot of pain and I might have saved my poor gallbladder!

Wow! I’m so happy that you are doing well I have noticed as the years go by we really have to be our own advocate ...it’s kind of scary ...

wishing you all the best with your health !

You are obviously clueless on this subject. Cell salts are not salt at all. They are minerals that the cells need. In the science world, salts mean minerals.

Chancery profile image
Chancery in reply to MissDRC

No, Miss, I'm not "clueless". 'Cell salts' or minerals - or whatever name you want to dress them up as - are taken in from food (& water), which is what I said, and sodium IS a 'cell salt', also taken in via food, which is what I said. None of that means homeopathy works.

Hi Pettals, I did read your post and watch the video, it was very interesting and gave me new hope that I haven't just wasted my money! :)

Except that homeopathic remedies truly are so diluted that they are really just water. They can't have the effects they claim. Any improvement must be due to other factors, or just time itself.

Allyson1 profile image
Allyson1

I already have looked into it. I think a lot of us with chronic health issues run into this stuff at some point.

It's good to have a hopeful, positive mindset when dealing with health issues, but that doesn't mean one has to believe everything.

Homeopathic remedies have no mechanism of action aside from blind faith. They are simply water.

They cannot actually heal the body. If a person enjoys taking them for themselves, that is their choice.

But they should not be promoted as medicines for serious health problems.

Unfortunately it seems this is the same Tim Goyetche who ran a spam operation out of Canada in the early 2000s. Now he has turned to homeopathy out of his home and photography of young women.

This would not be the first time I've come across someone with no medical education, but a background in dubious marketing techniques, who is now promoting themselves in the natural health world.

it adopts many different charachteristics which is an alteration in molecular structure.

Really? It adopts a structure different from H-O-H? Stuff and nonsense.

look at the molecular structures of dmt, psilocybin and ayahuasca. Verry similar

Only to somebody with a knowledge of chemistry approaching zero. For a start, ayahuasca doesn't have a chemical structure. It is a plant, extracts of which contain man hundreds of different chemicals.

Did you really join this group just to post your nonsensical rantings in a deliberate attempt to wind up legitimate members? Of will you ever have anything constructive and reliable to post? Because, if you haven't, then it's probably best if you go away.

helvella profile image
helvella in reply to fbirder

Funny how people accept the research/science which identifies molecular structures in the first place, then seemingly randomly claim that there are only almost-negligible differences between substantially different molecules. And that there are major differences between molecules of water without any explanation or justfiication - certainly no science has been put forward.
