There is a nationwide shortage. I live in Texas. I think the shortage began in October 2013. I have a link that I'll post as soon as I find it.

Once on the page, choose cyanocobalamin to see more information.

This page has an entry that mentions two nasal alternatives (Calomist, Nascobal). I have no knowledge about or experience with these products. I self-inject once monthly and have three doses left.

Injectable B12 has begun to trickle back into supply in Canada.

I have four distinct supply chains of B12 in my area and all of the pharmacists were telling me Feb/Mar in Jan and then that slipped to Mar/Apr. My local Costco got 36 x 10ml bottles in on Friday afternoon from Sandoz Canada and at 10am Saturday, there were three left. I managed to grab one since I am only on a 1ml a month dose.

Two of the other pharmacists had a couple of bottles available as well. So at least its starting to show up.

Just for info, the price at Costco was $8.09 CDN for 10,000mcg/10mL bottle.

There appears to be a shortage the other side of the pond (UK) as well but may not be the same form of B12 - that appears to be down to one manufacturer who produces unbranded product having some problems in the processing, though branded versions do still seem to be available.

Worrying ...

I Live in Ohio and there is a shortage here too. I get my B12 from a pharmacy and give myself injections. They cant seem to get this from their suppliers. I understand Canada has a shortage too.
