Hi

My daughter took it several years ago for interstisial cystitis (bladder pain) but it did not help. She is now taking another one which is much better, but I cannot remember the name. I think it begins with T. I will ask her tomorrow and let you know

I'm on 400 mg 4 times a day also tramadol ibuprofen amitriptyline and paracetamol and the pain in my hands and feet are still bad so no not really. My doctor phoned the pain team at my local hospital and now I am on the short list to control my pain. Try getting your doctor to do the same. Hope this helps.

Hi Jane 123

I have recently read a lot of research, much of it carried out in India and very well case documented. This has used a Methylcobalamin and Gabapentine mixture, for the relief of nerve pain and with great success. I will see if I can find the reference links and let you have them, but the short answer is YES! it is reported as a medical success. I would just add, but don't let this put you off trying it if your GP has scripted it, that Gabapentine was originally designed for use with Epilepsy and has side effects reported, which many of course do not suffer, but do be careful and report any such effects to your GP asap. May I also suggest that you obtain a book called Could it be B12 from Amazon and I think that may help you a great deal.

Jane I've just seen Sufferings med's listing and it smells of the usual listing of Opiates, NSAID's, Antidepressants, often handed out by GP's who do not understand just what a B12 defic. can do to a patient. You do not state if you have fully checked out your HoloTC and MMA status, if not then I would advise you to do so asap. However you may like many, find your GP unwilling to help very much, but let's hope not.

Hope you find this helpful and you soon feel better.

Best wishes B12 Turbo

Yes I was on Gabapentin for about 7 years 4 times a day and I certainly found it worked, my neuropatic pain was partly due to having had a stroke, I do not know about the pain associated with PA. When I was first diagnosed nearly 30 years ago, I do not remember if I had any associated pain. I hope it works for you but like anything you have to give it sufficient time to get into your system before you will notice that it is working or not

All the best. From Lightening

Hi Jane 123

b12awareness.org/

I have just come across this link, it will take you to a video range, have a look at the one entitled B12 Documentary by Elissa Leonard, it takes an Hour to play, but it's well worth the time and please watch it all the way through carefully, I think you will be amaze by just what a B12 Defic. can do to a patient. I think the above is a good move for anyone using this site and interested in B12.

I will continue to search for the other links re. Methyl + Gabapentin, but if you Google it, you should find it.

Hi

The tablets my daughter takes now are Topiramate.

They work better for her problem but as others have replied Gabapentin worked well for them so could also work for you.

Hope you soon find the right medication to suit you and start to feel better.
