I would suggest asking the doctor to test folate and serum iron/ferritin, you might be low on these things as well. You need B12, folate and iron in the correct formation of red blood cells so if you just put in one of them (B12) when you are low on the others (folate/iron) you'll deplete those even more and feel no better. Get tested first, because if they are very low the doctor can prescribe something. If they are low normal you can self supplement, but get the tests done first.

Don't know if it's any help but I saw a massive reduction of tiredness/mental slowness by going gluten free. However, I suspect I might be an undiagnosed coeliac as I haven't particularly heard of it working for anyone else with PA.

I've done the same and it works for me, even though I tested negative for Coeliac. Try googling "Non-Coeliac Gluten Sensitivity."

I also felt very much more with it when I put myself on a wheatfree. diet I found I lost that awful boating feeling and constant weariness and lethargy. I do not know if the wheat was the cause, as I have re included it in my diet and there have been only some of the original problems returned namely the lethargy and also windiness. Which can be embarrassing. At times so I am about to embark on a stricter weight loss diet in which I will again exclude wheat products / carbohydrates. And see what happens this time. I will report back if I find a dramatic improvement in my symptoms. Good luck to pollyk. As you seek to solve your problems good wishes lightening
