According to the British National Formulary the following side effects might occur:

nausea, headache, dizziness; fever, hypersensitivity reactions (including rash and pruritus): injection-site reactions; hypokalaemia and thrombocytosis during initial treatment; chromaturia

But don't be put off if you have any of these reactions as generally the body adjusts and side effects can lessen and disappear, but certainly, tell your doctor.

In the 25+ years of B12 injections I can honestly say I have never had any side effects. I didn't expect to as my mother also had P A. and she had no side effects so it didn't occur to me, which I personally think is good if you think about side effects toooo much it encourages them to occur! the only side effect you want to consider is that it will make you feel better, be positive and all good wishes to you

I also should have said if side effects do occur then seek your doctor's advice immediately
