On June 20th, Move4Parkinson’s will host Ireland’s first national patient empowerment day entitled The Rhythm of Life. The event takes place at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin in association with Parkinson’s Movement, an initiative of the UK’s Cure Parkinson’s Trust.
The Rhythm of Life event will empower and equip people with Parkinson’s to improve their quality of life through a holistic program of events. People with Parkinson’s, their carer’s and a host of international experts on Parkinson’s Disease will come together for practical workshops including seated yoga, musical therapy and mindfulness.
Distinguished speakers on the day include Professor Bastiaan Bloem, Consultant Neurologist, Parkinson Centre Nijmegan, the Netherlands and world-leading expert in patient empowerment; Tom Isaacs, author of Shake Well before Use and President and Founder the Cure Parkinson’s Trust; and Padraig O’Morain, author and therapist. A panel discussion, chaired by Paul de Roos MD, one of the ambassadors of the Parkinson’s’ Movement, will see medical professionals, people with Parkinson’s’ and carers, discuss ‘The Ingredients for a Better Quality of Life.”
The Rhythm of Life aims to create a new narrative for people with Parkinson’s, empowering them to understand and manage their disease. With such a distinguished panel of speakers, along with People with Parkinson’s and those who provide care in the community, The Rhythm of Life promises to be of great value and relevance for a broad spectrum of people, from all around Ireland.
