Hi John, as another "youngster" (i'm 46) I've had to cope with a lot of what you're going through.I'm retired now (not my choice!) but am starting to get used to it. I run regularly - will complete my 12th marathon in May (not as fast as i was but as long as i finish i don't care how long it takes) . Good luck with the bike ride/epic journey - if you need a stop in Cumbria give me a shout and i'll put the kettle on !
My husband was diagnosed at about the same age 17 yrs ago, he had to give up driving and cyling initially by now still rides his bike. He is chairman of our local PD branch and kept very busy, it is not easy but I admire him for his spirit. Its hard to take in at first diagnosis, but it sounds like you have accepted it and are getting on. Well done keep it up do not let it beat you, work around it when you can. Good Luck
Hi John. Well you have found the all happening site now you have found us. You seem to be coping really well. I, too, started with a tremor in my right hand over 6 years ago.
I really admire your determination to cycle from John O Groats to Lands End and would be pleased to sponsor your ride. Round one is the worst. When you are through that you seem to get strength to fight, fight, fight with all your might.
You can always find someone who can answer your questions on this site. It certainly is not all doom and gloom.
Here's a big welcome from the state of Tennessee in the USA! I like your attitude! We all have to keep on going and support each other. I found a home when I happened upon this site. I hope you will feel that way too.
Indiana welcomes you, John. This sight is a daily helper to me. I think of it as a wonderful vitamin! Keeping a positive attitude is so important. These folks all walk the same path and are so understanding.
