How many hours do you sleep?

Does anyone sleep at least 6 hours straight at night? Or is it always fragmented for you? What do you do to have a good night's sleep. My dad can't seem to get more than 4-5 hours a night. Sometimes he takes a cbd/melatonin/valarian tincture, other times an Aleve night pill... He has taken marijuana oils, teas and sprays but doesnt like the feeling of being high. These help him fall asleep faster, but he consistently wakes up after 3 hours and doesn't fall asleep again till after an hour, and only for about an hour. Any advice would be helpful. We are unsure how we feel about pharmaceuticals since already has to take sinemet all day long. Thanks!

I sleep 9-10 hours straight most nights. I take Mg Calm powder, 9mg melatonin, and 7.5mg mirtazapine before bed. I go to bed about 30 minutes before sleep time and read until I'm tired. If I'm cold I take a hot bath before bed. I also exercise daily. I sleep better with no Sinemet on board so I never take it after 5pm (part of that is I get dyskinesia at wear off). I also don't do anything stressful after 9pm

I hear you on adding drugs also but Mirtazapine has been good to me on very low dose. It has an anti anxiety/antidepression action as well. I am super drug sensitive - can't do valerian or CBD either but this one is ok.

Ditto on mirtazapine. 7.5mg., plus 9-12 mg melatonin. I usually sleep 7 hours, get up to pee, then right back to sleep for another 1-2 hours. Only downside is some grogginess for an hour or two in the a.m.

I rarely get 6 hours total, and that is broken up. I learned a long time ago not to fight it or I would get less. As a result I get a lot done late night and med a nap almost daily

I have at max. A five hour tolerance to prone position. Drugs, legal or not so.....Calm magnesium...... REM disorder or that big ass rat at the foot of my bed some nights. My daily routine has evolved into napping some after mid day Sinimet

Posted an earlier reply but want to add that if he wakes up mid sleep try a small glass of water with Magnesium Calm dissolved in it next to the bed. It puts me back to sleep. I tried other types of magnesium but CALM really works.

My experience sounds similar. I have tried many things. I have had some luck with melatonin (10MG), CBD (25MG in AM and again at night), and C/L ER (25-100) before bed. THC made me woozy. The CBD recco came from nurse who counsels medical MJ in Massachusetts, Her husband has PD and it works for him. Book by Dr. Ahlskog (The New PD Treatment Book) advocates keeping dopamine levels up at night when PD in second stage. Still don't sleep more than four or five hours in a chunk. Take two one hour naps.

I get a pretty steady 7 hours with one bathroom trip. I've been sleeping grounded (earthing) for amost fifteen years and five of those years were before I realized I had a problem and then dx'd. It made a huge difference for me. Google it for info. Amazon carries the pads for chairs and sheets for bed. I use both so I'm grounded most of the time.

I am now sleeping 6-7 hours, although I wake up average twice a night to pee. I think I wake up also to turn over, that somehow my body can't do it on its own in my sleep. Melatonin made me groggy the next day. I've heard Calm is great, but I think any form of magnesium works. For me the game changer has been CBD lotion. Relaxed my muscles and got rid of that internal tremor/can't get comfortable feeling.

I enjoy breakfree sleep without any medicine. I wash my feet with warm water and concentrate my thoughts for two minutes and sleep or read some holy book with deep concentration and sleep after that. No noise and light in the room.

I sleep 9 - 10 hours most nights without significant disturbance. I take a gaba supplement before bed which may help.

Hi all! My husband and I are sitting here in zombie land because he only sleeps for 1 1/2 hours between his dosings if Sinemet and Mucuna. He has tried so many different things (prescription and natural) but nothing has given him any sleep longer than 3 hours (which is on rare occasions). We are both so worn out from lack of sleep. (Wifey gets no sleep if hubby doesn’t sleep!).

I noticed a few of you mentioned Magnesium Calm. Where do you purchase it, what name brand do you use, and what strength? Any information would be very much appreciated!!!!

Natural Vitality Calm. I buy mine on amazon amzn.to/38F8HaZ . I take one scoop before bed with a little orange juice.

Thanks! We just went to the Vitamin Shoppe and found the powder and gummies! He’s going to give it a try tonight! Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻

we recently found a blend of cbd, valerian and melatonin. it puts my dad to sleep pretty quickly, but he still wakes up after 2-3 hours to use the bathroom. he takes another drop to get back to sleep. for another few.

Regarding sleep, Melatonin 2mg lozenge gives me about 5hrs sleep, thanks to Allaah. Had a very tough time before with sleep going whacky. I also try to keep my circadian clock tuned up by sitting facing the rising sun. THIS HELPS.

Sleep continues to be a problem caused by a variety of reasons like nocturia, inner tremors, and difficulty getting in and out of bed. I have tried a number of times to fix the problems and have had limited success. My latest is my purchase of a Theraposture Rotoflex 200 bed. I imported it from the UK. It combines a lift chair with a medical bed. It is very clever but I still am not comfortable. If anyone is interested in it, pls contact me thru this list.
